Scott Embry’s Saturday’s Esperance Preview Posted on December 24, 2020December 24, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ABU DHABI is always hard to catch in this grade when he can find the front. Took a big effort to gun him down last start. Hannah Fitzgerald is starting to make a name for herself in the jockey ranks and she is the perfect rider for this free rolling speedster. COUNT TOMOZ OFF gave Angela Johnston her first winner and see no reason why he can’t win again. HELMS GATE is never far from the winner. AMELIA ARGOT went close last start and should win a few in this grade. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – ABU DHABI WIN RACE 2 SCENE TO SIN has been going well for Freddo Brown without winning. Ran an impressive second to stablemate Busy One at the opening meeting and then got within a length of Willhego West and Whim Creek. Comes from a hot time race at her most recent and that should prove the strongest form. BALLADEER joins the stables of Neil Dellar and when he travels to Esperance you pay attention. Especially when he picks one up from SJ Miller. SHE KNOWS BEST is drawn deep but can work across. ROSEICAPILLA always ran handy races in Kal. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – SCENE TO SIN WIN RACE 3 DEVALERA PARK was beaten 11L at his most recent but looked to have a little bit of ability at trials and in the previous campaign. Drawn the inside gate, Keshaw Dhurun riding Esperance well, Meryl Hayley’s team ticking over and is worth a throw at the stumps. Could open any old price. ORANAMENTAL BELLE has gone round at big prices in her two career outings but both have been impressive displays. RUSTY SPIRIT should win one eventually but draws sticky. WHEATSTACK THEIF ran well on debut. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – DEVALERA PARK EACHWAY RACE 4 ILZAAM had two starts for Simon Miller and now joins Helen Harding in the Great Southern. On debut ran fifth beaten 3L behind Gallant Ranger, Hoover and Tibetan Black and then finished down the track in a 3 year old 0MWLY behind No Surrender, Iron Sharp and Ghobella. That race has produced 2 metro winners so should be handy form for an Esperance maiden. BIG FISH is racing below market expectation at the minute. Did show ability as a youngster. SHE’S RULER is consistent. RUN FOR GOLD an improver at a price. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – IZLAAM WIN RACE 5 ARSINOE has a strangle hold early on Esperance Horse of the Year. Fiona Scott does a wonderful job with her small team and she has this mare absolutely in the zone. Goes up another 2.5kg but hard to see them turning the tables on her the way she is going. SUN POWER drops right down in the weights and can always make things interesting with his front running race pattern. UNIKAT is harder to follow than Josh Brown’s moods but on his day he has the talent to win. OSO TEMPTING ran well off a freshen. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – ARSINOE WIN RACE 6 ROYAL SOLDIER is lightly raced but looks highly progressive. Ran second on debut to the talented Gods Blue Skye and then won a maiden from off the speed with his eyes closed. Comes from the fast run race behind Dirty Dot and Sun Power and that should be the strongest form in the race. Draws wide but seems to like room to move. SLICK UNIT can nearly roll to the top here. Only looks speed with Miss Unforgettable. DYNAMIC FORCE finds a new home and is race fit. WHIM CREEK should be winning a few in Esperance off the metro and provincial form. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – ROYAL SOLDIER WIN RACE 7 MISTY LAD always looked like he would make a brilliant country acquisition and alongside stablemate Count Tomoz Off looks like being a season long Christmas present to Neil Dellar. Angela Johnston suits these front runners and her claim is key to his chances. BENTLEY’S BROTHER brings Albany form and has been going well for a while now. SALVARA is building into the campaign and it looks like Chris Graham’s manager has elected to abandon #baz. Brave son. HEAVEN’S GATE should be hard to beat back into this grade. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – MISTY LAD WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 6,9,10 2,7 2,3,5,9 2,4,8,9 Market Market
