RACE 1

SPIRIT OF PROPHECY has been knocking on the door her entire career. Comes into this 29 days between runs on the fresh side and gets the luxury of metro jock Kyra Yuill making the trip down to Albany on Boxing Day for a full book. Should lead them up from the inside and get local punters off to a flyer. BIG BADA BOOM was better last start. Questionmark on the quality of the form. NATURAL MOSS can be an improver after running to a few handy ones on debut in the provincial area. COUNT THE SESSIONS gave a real sight last start.

RACE 2

LUNE DE LA TERRE looks capable of giving Rebecca Shanks a shot at a race to race double. Ran fourth on debut behind Mercy Prevails, Worth a Risk and Pasaran in a quality little form reference race. Only had the one run last preparation when things didn’t go right and then returns here off the back of a highly impressive Albany trail in sizzling time. MY NAMES STAR has had a fair few opportunities but should get a soft run from the draw. MOMENTS OF MAGIC gets under the guard and did run a nice race two starts ago. BELLE POWER a filly who can give some cheek on debut.

RACE 3

SAUVEGARDE has put the writing on the wall at her last two. Consistent mare who Paul Hunter should have a lot of fun with over the Great Southern season. From the gate can stalk the speed behind Modern Times and Round The Point and from there looms as the one to beat. MODERN TIMES was brave last start. Always had him pegged for a horse who needed to find the fence to win. Improving type. ROUND THE POINT will have plenty of admirers and has strong form to his name in the metro area when last in work. ENDOVANERA finds a new home and did win impressively first-up last prep.

RACE 4

GIFTED WARRIOR finds a new home in the stables of Roy Rogers. Had six runs when last in work for Team Harvey and they were in 3x 60+, 2x C5 and 1x C3. This first-up assignment is a lowly country C2 and provided he can stay within striking distance can kick off his new SW career in style. TRIGGERFISH has always promised to win a few races and after the claim of Snaggers Sardelic gets in with a winnable weight. OXBRIDGE is talented and should be given the run of the race by Peter Hall. AWAY WE GO won well last start.

RACE 5

ATHLONE CASTLE was probably the most impressive winner of the meeting last start and could well be why Kyra Yuill makes her way down to the region. Comes up into c70+ grade for the very first time but gets significant weight relief to the tune of 5kg and 90% of these horses have been racing each other for the last 3 years. Alternate form usually proves the best form in that circumstance. CAPTIVATED POINT is rarely seen in the region and when he is, he goes super. MY DEMI is perfectly suited to these open class country races and Brock Lewthwaite’s horses travel super. ZETORIO is looking to recapture some form.

RACE 6

FANGIO was solid first-up and improved sharply second-up. With the engagement of Madi Derrick gets a 2kg weight swing on Deangles and that should be sufficient to turn the tables. Always had ability and might start to put it altogether now. WESTERN RHYTHM looks extremely well placed in a C2 at Albany but can be a tough steer. Spud Galati is a 3kg claimer and is set a tough task with a wide gate and difficult mare. Could prove too classy but wary of her also being a tough watch. DEANGLES looked like he had stolen it last start but got the wobbles late. CHOOSE TO CRUISE looks to have a fair future.

RACE 7

KENDELS MEE DAD has been a revelation since joining the Roy Rogers yard in Albany. Simply loves the surface and was even competitive in town when taken to Belmont through the winter. The way he won first-up suggests he’ll be winning plenty more and he is more than capable of carrying the weight to victory again. MR MT WALKER is a city quality animal saved for Albany racing by Steve Wolfe. Chris Nicoll the beneficiary of Roy Rogers claiming on Kendels Mee Dad as he picks up the plumb ride on the logical danger. READ THE RIOT ACT an improver at odds. GO CRYING yard to catch but talented.
