Scott Embry’s Saturday Roebourne Preview Posted on July 24, 2025July 24, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FAMEUX drops 5.5kg going from a 56+ into a 68+ but love the way that Ryan Hill’s are going and the way that Holly Nottle is riding with her 3kg claim. Expect he’ll bounce out and put himself into a position over the speed and should measure up against the better credentialled horses. SIMPLY ROSSO is as honest and consistent as it comes. Sharni Webster has ridden him to two wins this preparation already this campaign and he drops 3kg after running into Royalzel. OUR KIWI PRINCESS is the class runner but does need to lump the 60. JACKEMJAMES has turned a corner. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – FAMEUX WIN RACE 2 STAY WEALTHY has been beaten by Zadar Rock at his last two. That’s the A-Grade form ahead of all the NW Country Cups and he’s now both back in grade, and more importantly back in distance to 1813m. It’s a great opportunity for Giaan O’Donnell to jump him out, take up the running and stay out of trouble. ARCHER COUNTY is the other on-speeder who can sustain a run. Natika Riordan can park and ride the speed and follow the every move of Stay Wealthy. UNI QUEEN has been good in her last two and should still be improving. URBAN WARRIOR is dangerous with the right run and Kate Pateman on is huge. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – STAY WEALTHY WIN RACE 3 DIAMOND TIPPED is thriving on the dirt. It’s amazing (and rare) to see a horse like him who misses the kick, gets back in the ruck, cops a face full of kick back and then just charges over the concluding stages. He’s always vulnerable given that race pattern but he’s 3/3 undefeated on the dirt. INCANDESCENT LADY can turn the tables on Shooting Kontiki if ridden for speed. SHOOTING KONTIKI beat her home last start and actually meets her 1.5kg better at the weights with an apprentice’s claim. PROTECTED ACTION has met with some support in recent outings. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND TIPPED WIN RACE 4 LE TROY went around in a 56+ at Carnarvon a fortnight ago when running second to King Mahuta (who has won again since) and is now back into a C1 and back in distance. This is a very thin race and think he’s more than capable of sustaining a run around them three deep and out staying them. FINE LINE ran a cheeky race two back, she’s just been hard to trust and follow. GINGER HIVE went well last tart but over 1000m? MARINES CRY leads but did get the wobbles late in a maiden last start. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – LE TROY WIN RACE 5 SHE IS GOD beat home Kia Ora Tatou the last time they met and since then has gone to a pair of 56+ races and hasn’t been disgraced. Nice set up for her here. KIA ORA TATOU had been knocking on the door running three consecutive minors before breaking through last start when leading and winning a C1 1200. This race has a bit more depth. HEARTFORD HOUSE would prefer if this was 1000m but he’s been going well all prep and can hold a position close handy. TORQUED UP is going super on the dirt. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – SHE IS GOD WIN RACE 6 ROYALZEL has only been defeated on the dirt twice this preparation and on both occasions he’s had genuine excuses. Roebourne is a different racing style to his ‘home ground’ at Port Hedland but he’s going super and considering he’s won out to 1600m in NSW there’s no reason to doubt he’s the one to beat again here. SCHNOOTS has found her feet on the dirt in Broome and smashed the clock on both occasions. If she handles Roebourne she’ll be very hard to beat. ONE ABOVE ALL has raced below his best all season but gets big weight relief. WESTERN IMPACT has had a great season at Carnarvon. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – ROYALZEL WIN RACE 7 ZADAR ROCK is a beast. Bailey Webster has done a super job in his last two to keep throwing the kitchen sink at him from the 1200 to keep him in touch with the field and then pull him to the very outside and let him rip. It’s now over to senior rider Michael Heagney to do the same and he meets Acermetric at the same weights as last start when beating him. ACERMETRIC is the stablemate and gives Dean Cocivera a big look in at the Cup. He might be turning 11 years old next weekend but he’s still racing at the peak of his powers. HEZAZEB gets 3.5kg on the pair and is building. FALCON TRADER a huge unknown on the dirt. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – ZADAR ROCK WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1 1,3,4,5,6,7,9 1,6 2,3,7 Market Market
