Scott Embry’s Saturday Pinjarra Preview Posted on February 13, 2025February 13, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CHINO LA DIVA has turned a corner in the last month. She’s amazingly having her 17th run of a preparation that dates back to May 2024 at Belmont Park but she’s seemingly getting better and better. Broke her maiden four back, won a C1 three back, beats Sunlit Fresco in another bound two back and then last start went from 1200 to 1500m which was a furlong too far. Back to 1300, Chris Parnham on, lots to like. SALT LAKE SHAKE is exceptionally quick, but will he run 1300m? EN PLEIN AIR scratched Wednesday to save for this. BEST OF THE GODS is an improving country galloper. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – CHINO LA DIVA WIN RACE 2 SIR DREAMALOT will divide opinions. First-up last campaign under 59.5kg he finished a narrow second behind Keep Ita Mystery and then finished within 2L of West Star / September Born at his next two. Gets in on the minimum, draws the outside fence, he’s definitely capable. LEXINGTON CITY has blinkers re-applied and drops 3kg off his brave last start performance. SILVER EYE is a really honest campaigner. His recent trial was super but it was also now a month ago. PIN DEEP is quick but from barrier 1 he’s going to need to burn the candle at both ends to find a decent spot. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – SIR DREAMALOT WIN RACE 3 SUPERNATURAL looks well placed by Adam Durrant. She’s carrying 1kg more in a re-handicapped Fillies & Mares 63+ as she did last start in the WA Breeders Classic behind London’s Image, Ron’s Finalflutter, Glasgow Lass and Golden Kathleen. She’s drawn wide but gets back regardless and has the speed to sprint with her main dangers and has a 3kg weight pull on them. Nice race for her. RISSOLES last win was a 66+ F&M feature and she’s been freshened and comes back in distance. SELFLESS ACT was a great fresh run. VALSASSINA has returned in excellent form. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – SUPERNATURAL WIN RACE 4 BOLD HERO is two from two undefeated this campaign and looks a real horse on the rise. 1400 to 1800, now to 2000m. He’s improving with every outing and he’s nowhere near the peak of his powers yet. Exciting horse. STORMAGEDDON – wowee. He went into every Blackbook in the State two starts back and then probably the remainder of the country after last start. Been a long time since a horse at 2200m was travelling that well behind a wall of horses. ROCKING SOCIETY has been in great form all preparation, however, the weight has caught up with him and they’ve now elected to claim. CITINO sneaks back in grade. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – BOLD HERO WIN RACE 5 TRIO worked his way through the grades at Belmont Park over winter and is a previous 60+ 1400m winner. He resumed this campaign in a 66+ 1200m, got a long way out of his ground and hit the line well behind Golden Vale. Back in grade, up in distance and CJP sticks. Looks a winnable race for him and he goes around eachway. MEAN MACHINE was pulling ground off Horcrux first-up at 1100m and then second-up he went to the WA Breeders Classic when far from disgraced. Must respect that form in a 60+ Grad. GOLDEN DORE has real X-Factor. FORBIDDEN APPLE not hopeless coming down from Geraldton. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – TRIO EACHWAY RACE 6 KINGS SALUTE was beaten 1.3L by Angel Undercover first-up at 1200m and meets her 2kg better at the weights, and then they met again behind Benji’s and subsequent winner Bruce Almighty over 1400m. They were both excellent runs but thought that with more room to move in the home straight that King’s Salute would have finished right alongside her. Going well. HOSTILE TALK was the beaten favourite in that race but had genuine excuses. ANGEL UNDERCOVER is back to her very best. BENJI’S broke through after a long run of outs and looks the leader? Numbers: 10 – 8 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – KINGS SALUTE WIN RACE 7 STRIDEAWAY is a nice filly. She won a race in her initial preparation, was given a spell, trialled super and then was too strong late for key rival Do I Feel Lucky first-up. They meet at the same weights (both drop 1kg) and after the barrier draw there’s a firm leaning towards Strideaway to give Neville Parnham his first 2 year old Magic Millions. DO I FEEL LUCKY hit the front on straightening in that event and was left a sitting duck to be run down. Swap the barriers, swap the tip. Will need a bit steer. DA GENERALS SON did what few are capable of on debut. PERFECTLY PROPER looked sharper with the shades on at trials. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 3 – 12 Suggested Bet – STRIDEAWAY WIN Same Race Multi – Strideaway (Top 2) + Do I Feel Lucky (Top 3) Strideaway and Do I Feel Lucky went head to head last start and finished first and second respectively. They meet again at the same weights and happy to lock that pair in as the clear two to beat. Given the barrier draw it’s advantage Strideaway so Top 2 for her and Top 3 for Do I Feel Lucky who has to overcome a tricky alley. RACE 8 PERFECT CHANT won a 3 year old Plate on debut and then was sent down to Bunbury for an easy kill, however, ran into future Champion Fillies & WA Guineas winner Storyville. She has impressed at both barrier trials and while the most recent was ridiculously slow (1:03:32) they’ll turn the speed on for her here and she can blend in midfield and wind-up into the race at an eachway price. Jarrad Noske riding 55kg – that’s the push. SHMOOV MOOVA deserves favouritism off what he’s produced so far, but under $3 from barrier 16/16 does look rock bottom odds. LONDON’S IMAGE is just an A-Grade filly. She’s seriously tough. SMOOTH CHINO a watch. Numbers: 11 – 4 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – PERFECT CHANT EACHWAY RACE 9 JUST SAINT JAMES is a 2x straight 1000m winner, gunning for three wins in a row and is improving with racing. There’s a stack of speed here (Rock This Town, Made In Mexico, Military Power, Prince Ragnar, Rocking Gem, Chop Suey) which gives him the chance to gun them down with a clear run. ROCKING GEM has come back a better horse this time in. She was only edged out late in a 66+ last start and should Lexington City go well in Race 2 the form will look even better. ROCK THIS TOWN is a proven 1000m straight track commodity. Just 50-50 on his weight carrying ability (6 runs > 59kg, no wins). CLEANEMUP is really well placed back into a 60+ Graduation. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 1 – 14 Suggested Bet – JUST SAINT JAMES WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,7,8,10 1,3,8 4,6,11 1,3,9,11,14 Market Market
