Scott Embry’s Saturday Marble Bar Preview Posted on July 4, 2024July 4, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PRINCE RAGNAR should simply be too quick for them here. Always a risk being first start on the dirt and 1200m is about as far as he wants but this is a 4 horse field and he’ll cross straight to the front. Leading at Marble Bar and looks simply better than rivals ability wise. MAGIC OF ZEUS chases hard in all his races and comes back in distance here. OUR KIWI PRINCESS is probably first out and then likely gets crossed by Prince Ragnar shortly after. SIR DIAMOND likely runs fourth. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PRINCE RAGNAR WIN RACE 2 FEELS HOT has had two runs at Broome over 1600 and 1400 and hasn’t been too bad in either. They were both C2s and now he’s back into a C1 at Marble Bar. Thinking this is the start they can ride him for speed (did sit on pace at Carnarvon a few times back in 2022) and he’s the only winner in a field of maidens. Best chance he’ll get. MONEY FOR MUSIC is a long time maiden but kept whacking away at Roebourne in a maiden where Cheddar Bob lapped them. PRINCE VICTORY is fresh at a mile having done most of his racing over 11/1200. COSMIC SMILE next best. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – FEELS HOT WIN RACE 3 ZERO DAWN had her first run on dirt at Roebourne when fourth behind Dare Me and subsequent winners Cheddar Bob and Viking Forever and then contested a C1 1400 at Port Hedland when finishing second to Quillow. Drops back into a maiden and should have enough toe to find a spot close handy. BENFIN is the stablemate and looks a big danger. Two run for Malcolm Mackenzie have been excellent and won’t be a maiden much longer. SHE HATES ME wasn’t far off Benfin at Port Hedland. TOPAZ improves sharply out of that Broome run. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – ZERO DAWN WIN RACE 4 LAND OF FIRE has his first start in the NW for a travelling John Doyle. Went well at Kalgoorlie last start and if he handles the surface, he’s one of the main players. Really like that Jess Gray has taken the ride. Risky going a first time dirt runner but going to roll the dice with him. COMPAK doesn’t know how to run a bad race and will be in front for a long way. SALCHINO and JUSTHANDY are always thereabouts and both draw to get the runs they need. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LAND OF FIRE WIN RACE 5 MONEY FOR OLD ROPE (and others) missed the run at Roebourne with the abandoned meeting last weekend but considering he won last start off a 30 day freshen it’s no concerns that he’s now 27 days between runs. Having his 31st run of the campaign – unreal scenes, but continues to produce. PRINCE TIKEA is a last start grass winner at Kalgoorlie over 1760. Drops back in distance and heads to the dirt but like all of John Doyle’s is in form at the right time. GRECE LIGHTNING has been in form all preparation and sneaks up behind the speed. The Zadar Rock form could be elite. ACERMETRIC will continue to improve with racing. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – MONEY FOR OLD ROPE WIN RACE 6 ROCKING THE MERC won a 56+ 1300 at Port Hedland before winning a 56+ 1400 at Roebourne to start his preparation. Last start went to Broome which is a different kettle of fish and covered plenty of ground out deep. Ridden for speed here on the fresh side he looks to have found a very winnable race. Wouldn’t be a NW meeting if Austin/Kevin didn’t combine for at least one winner. ZEEWIJK is a Roebourne specialist but has found a bit of form recently. MAGIC PHANTOM an improver as is MERCURIUS. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – ROCKING THE MERC WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 2,4,7 1,2,3,4,5,7 5,6,7 2 Market Market
