Scott Embry’s Saturday Geraldton Preview Posted on December 5, 2024December 5, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MOMBASA doesn’t win out of turn but his last win was a 58+ 1600 at Geraldton ~ 12 months ago and this looks (is) an identical race. Small field suits, limited form around his opposition and a big horse like him should have no worries carrying the weight. Massive run behind The Rush last start and on paper looks the winner. KAZKAZI heads across to Mack Hall and finds a very winnable race first outing for the new yard. JURUENA GOLD has shades back on and they may help. STARTTHEFRIAR finally broke through on the dirt three back. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MOMBASA WIN RACE 2 MIFF MUFFERED MOOF had been there abouts all preparation but sixth up she really put it all together and won by 2L eased down. Comes up in grade but drops 2kg and the way she’s going it looks like 1900m will suit. HARD QUESTIONS had had three runs in WA and recorded back to back runner-up performances. Tony Scally could definitely be looking for a race to race double and he showed staying ability over East. BUTTERFLY ROCK rolls to the top and controls the race. HONORFIC improves back in grade and out in distance. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – MIFF MUFFERED MOOF WIN RACE 3 NEW ATTRACTION ran second to I’m On back in January and second to Daiyamondo (beating home Special Plan) in February. First-up this campaign trailed them around over 1200m and never got into it but second-up over 1400m found the line behind Ideally and subsequent winner Special Plan. Looks the right form and the step up in trip suits. BLACK SANDS has run three solid minors this campaign and was eye-catching late last start. WASN’T ME is a long time maiden but suited back to Geraldton. IL BELLO BEALS is racing well. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – NEW ATTRACTION RACE 4 DIXIE PRINCESS gets one last chance in what is an extremely weak maiden. Placed to Western Lady and subsequent winner Wineaclocksumwhere. Placed to Hillside Horace and beat home Grint and then comes through the Cash Flow / Fire The Guard maiden which is 5L better than this. Now or never. ARTERRE went around 100-1 first-up and ran home strongly into fourth (albeit a distant fourth). CHERRY BAY is very speedy. KARRI ON wasn’t disgraced on debut. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – DIXIE PRINCESS WIN RACE 5 HILLSIDE HORCE is an interesting runner to assess. First-up winner of an 1100m maiden when absolutely bolting past them. Second-up went to a 1400 and was solid when beating home subsequent winner Miff Muffered Moof and then last time out was plain in a C2 mile. Back to 1200? Big unknown but in a thin race going to follow him and trust Tony Scally’s decision. AROOCHACHA should be a very handy acquisition for Graeme Hammarquist. Clear danger. MONTY ZOOMER can stretch them in the middle stages. I’M ON returns to Geraldton and showed ability in her first prep. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – HILLSIDE HORACE WIN RACE 6 BEAUTY IN ME is having her fourth start for new trainer Travis Bettesworth and this looks really winnable for her. Last time out she finished strongly to narrowly miss and now gets out to 1400m. Drawn soft and is ready to win. A LOT OF CLASS broke his maiden in style and then went to a mile last start when less than 2L off the winner. Logical danger. DAIYAMONDO is yet to show her best but looks a big day for Tony Scally. MASTER ALEX should be ready now. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – BEAUTY IN ME WIN RACE 7 WESTOZI won soft first-up, wasn’t disgraced in the Batavia Sprint second-up and then simply couldn’t go with Snippy Which third-up. That galloper could well come out and win a 70+ at Albany on Thursday and if that was the case it would only strengthen the chances and the appeal of Westozi on Saturday. Back to 1100? In Albert we trust. SAFE HUSTLE went to the $100,000 Regional Final at Ascot last weekend and once crossed wasn’t in the contest. PRINCE RAGNAR drops 6kg and can go quick. BE SEATED always a chance fresh. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – WESTOZI WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,5,7,9,10 1,2,3,4 1,4,5 1,3,6,8 Market Market
