Scott Embry’s Saturday Esperance Preview Posted on November 20, 2025November 20, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 HIGHLAND JEUNEY has her first start for noted improver of tried horses Gary Burger. She went to the races twice for Darren McAuliffe and finished 3.6L off Fayola Baby on debut. Every horse that finished in front of her is now a winner: Polyvanova, Aces To Win, Kermelia, Productive and Reel Serenity so here’s hoping he can do it again! PERFECT RULER promised to win a maiden at Kalgoorlie when running a few close minors and on the fresh side can bounce out and lead. IFF YOURE READY finds a new home and while suited over further can run a cheeky race fresh. QUAGMIRE showed a bit early but nothing in more recent times. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – HIGHLAND JEUNEY WIN RACE 2 CAP CAVOUR like Highland Jeuney has his first start in the region for Gary Burger and his form with Neville Parnham was great for an Esperance maiden. Placed to Shmoova Moova, placed to Snow God and Niccimota, placed to Mister Raffles. It’s all good enough to win and win well. The biggest issue they’ll face with him is that he’s hard work behind the barriers. INKAANTOON ran second at Wodonga and then third at Kilmore to start her last preparation and can show speed from the inside. How will the inside fence play at Esperance in 2025? Big question. GOLDEN OPERA is first emergency but if she gains a run must be respected off her 2 year old form. I HAD A DREAM was frustrating last campaign but has a positive stable change. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 13 – 1 Suggested Bet – CAP CAVOUR WIN RACE 3 PADDYS FLYIN looked like being a great acquisiton for Fiona Scott and it only took two starts go get the cash. Went to a 70+ 1000 at Albany and beat The Spruiker and Rupert’s Empire. Heads down to Esperance and rises to 58.5kg and to 1100m but now that he’s got a bit of confidence back he really should be hard to beat. RUPERT’S EMPIRE put in his best run for a few preparations. Was a 60+ Graduation and 66+ ratings winner at Ascot in March 2024. Hopefully he can show some consistency again. LUCKY SUE won well first-up last campaign and can show a decent turn of foot when she’s right. DEBONNAIRE is the class runner but likely wants further. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – PADDYS FLYIN WIN RACE 4 SIMPLY ROYALTY won really well on debut at Northam off the back of a quiet trial and that day beat Nicciana (2x Saturday winner) and Lavish Charm (dominated the Goldfields late in the season). First-up, no trial, drawn to get a lovely midfield run and hopefully shows the same turn of foot that was on display on debut. BUSTERS GAL may find the 1100 on the sharp side but thought her trial was really quite good. ROYAL ACCOLADE loved Esperance and expect that Holly Nottle will clear out that 2kg claim in a matter of months between Geraldton, Albany and Esperance. ULTIMATE PARADISE only knows one way and that’s to jump and run. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SIMPLY ROYALTY WIN RACE 5 SUPPORTIVE was a c73 rater first-up last campaign when heading to Kalgoorlie and now heads to Esperance as a c68. Only two campaigns ago she resumed in a C5 1200 at Bunbury and finished second and then two starts later finished third in a 72+ to Cessation and Silver Eye. Nice race for her on paper. PENNED is the stablemate and drops 2.5kg on another honest performance at Kalgoorlie. The win three starts ago was 28 days between runs so seems to go well kept fresh. SABINO is having his 17th run of the prep but last start was nearly career best? DAWN AMNESTY is capable of reeling off a slick L600. Numbers: 3 – 11 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – SUPPORTIVE WIN RACE 6 PETITE VITESSE had her first start for new train Jon Jachmann at Northam in a C3 1300m when beaten 2.4L. Since then Lieutenant Dunbar has again placed, Showlas has given cheek in a 60+ Graduation on a Saturday and stablemate Pray Again placed at Albany. This is a weaker race, she drops half a kilo and she draws to settle midfield and make her run down the centre. VENTURO is first-up from the travelling team of Campbell McCallum who should have a great season in Esperance. Was given a quiet trial a month ago in preparation for this. TITAN RISING is likely to roll to the top and is mid-prep heading across from Adelaide for Wayne Wheatley and David Page out of Murray Bridge. Hard to line up? DANCING CHOOSE trialled enormous last season. First-up, no trial, watch. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PETITE VITESSE WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3,8 1,6,8 3,9,11 1,2,3,4,10 Market Market
