Scott Embry’s Saturday Esperance Preview Posted on November 19, 2021November 19, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 AURAE is now a 23 start maiden and has been horrendously frustrating for punters over the seasons. Probably loomed the winner at 15 of her 23 outings and just lacks a killer blow. 5 horse maiden at Esperance first-up. If she doesn’t win this then she gets life. Plain and simple. GATE CRACKER ran a nice race three starts ago, was 50-1 and finished only 2.75L off Arcadia Grace and Born To Talk at Northam. DON’T COMPARE gave a little cheek at Kalgoorlie last start. Josh Brown was spruiking his strike rate over the Kal Round, see if he lives up to his own reputation in Esperance this season #dontcompare. SHADOW SHIFTER was well supported a few times last season. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – AURAE WIN RACE 2 WHEATSTACK THEIF might be looking for further but this does look a winnable race if Lisa Staples can keep him within striking distance over the 1100m. Drawn a gate to get a nice run and should be finishing off as well as anything in this field. Shouldn’t be too long before he breaks through. TALKABOUTYOU has the blinkers taken off. Is very speedy and should still find the front with ease for Kate Witten. AMELIA’S PICANTE joins the stables of Helen Harding and Tash Faithfull rides. Could be an indication that she’s been working well in the region. FAULT has been pre-trained by Adam Durrant so you can be sure he’s fit. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – WHEATSTACK THEIF WIN RACE 3 KING’S AUTHORITY is superbly placed by Neil Dellar here in a c50+ C5 event. Three starts ago on Kalgoorlie Cup Day he won a m57+ Graduation beating Tajmali (subsequent Ascot 60+ Graduation winner). Since then he has raced in a 66+ behind Wilchino and a 66+ behind Bright Diamond, Gunmetal Grey, Angelic Miss and Chantorque (who all go to the Fillies & Mares race on Railway Stakes Day). 61.5kg after the claim and Taj Dyson is thrown a big book at Esperance. AMELIE ARGOT is a gun fresh and looks the danger on paper. COLD AS COLD could be the forgotten horse. Was going super early at Kal. SCENE TO SIN was produced as a first-up winner at Kalgoorlie by Freddo Brown. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – KING’S AUTHORITY WIN RACE 4 HAYAN LAD is another one that Neil Dellar has thrown his faith behind Taj Dyson with. Last start 67+ winner at Kalgoorlie beating Watto’s Fury and Dalswinton and finds himself here fresh into a 64+ at Esperance. Should have sufficient speed to get across to the breeze and from there he can bully his way over them in the straight. Going super. REBEL YELL like Amelie Argot in the previous is a gun fresh and looks the danger on paper. From the inside draw Tash Faithfull can stalk the speed. ALI BARBER is an Esperance specialist. ALCINA is flying for Josh Brown and can pinch a few of these races early in the season. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – HAYAN LAD WIN RACE 5 NOBLE REFLECTION will bring intrigue to his Esperance debut. Last preparation ran third to Kaptain Kaos and Holy Ghost in a C3, second in a C3 at Bunbury, second in a C3 at Ascot and second in a C5 at Northam. 59kg after the claim is a winnable weight and it is yet another horse who profiles well on paper for young Taj Dyson. Hopefully this meeting is the kick he needs to get going. NEUROLOGIC only really knows one way and that’s to run. Expecting her to burn along. ROYAL SOLDIER might need further but is a nice type resuming. LEADING MAN is expected to be hitting the line. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – NOBLE REFLECTION WIN RACE 6 FAIR ONE has some nice form when last in work. Won a C58+ at Esperance over a mile last preparation, placed in a 58+ at Kalgoorlie in April and now finds himself first-up in a C2 with 58kg. If Tyla Becker can get him out and rolling and get him across into a position over the speed he should take running down. New partnership in the region with Jo Leeson and Cliff Smith teaming up. Shouldn’t take too long for them to get on the board. HUSSTARR is a model of consistency and while only 1 from 19 is rarely far from the action with 13 minors to his name. ABOARD has always promised to string a few together at some stage. COCKY ED might need a bit further but can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – FAIR ONE WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,3 4,6 1,2,3 1,2,4,5,7,10,14 Market Market
