Scott Embry’s Saturday Broome Preview Posted on May 27, 2021May 27, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DO YOUR BEST looks a big chance to kick start what looks an enormous day on paper for Rob Gulberti. Ideal type for Broome (on speed) and gets in with no weight after the claim for Spud Galati. First-up last preparation at Pinjarra sat close handy when running second to Lies N Deception and then second-up finished 2Loff Secret Statue. Recent trial at Lark Hill suggests she can nearly lead. PRORATED another Rob Gulberti acquisition looks the danger. Showed glimpses at trials before his debut. ALL METAL comes across from out wide and looks suited back to the flying 1000. THE WISE ONE has speed and Darryn Pateman can turn them round quickly. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – DO YOUR BEST WIN RACE 2 MOORUMBINE won a recent 950m Lark Hill trial in slick time. Has always shown above average ability when ridden for speed and kept to the short course (930m winner at Narrogin). Was luckless on a number of occasions in Kalgoorlie when last in work and then when finally finding the front on day ran into a filly called Devine Beast who turned out to be a Saturday horse. BRICK SHORT finds a new home and if Jim Enright can keep on top of her feet issues should be winning races in the region. ROCK THE PLANET is undeniably quick. Kind of mare who may well relish the dirt style of jump and run racing. DANCE COCKEY is going well since joining the new yard. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – MOORUMBINE WIN RACE 3 BOYISH is a proven weight carrier and is extremely gate speed quick. Any time you see these horses who have metro and provincial form to their name when leading (and running time) who are headed up to Broome you get excited. Last start winner at Narrogin over 1100m with 61kg and if Simone Altieri can cross it’ll be game on. Winner off 50 days previously so the freshen is only an added bonus. FLASH OF THUNDER has been highly consistent and competitive in this grade and tougher since joining Rob Gulberti. Respect. SHACKELTON has turned the clock back since joining Darryn Pateman. Definite danger. KING OF PLANETS is quick and likely comes out running underneath of Boyish. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – BOYISH WIN RACE 4 MISS ELLMYA resumed first-up last preparation at Geraldton in a 58+ when sitting right over the speed with 59kg and winning running away from them. At her second start in Geraldton lead them up and was only nabbed late at 1200m by Angry Annie, with Jag The Joker back in third. On speed, fresh, no weight, jump and run. Looks an ideal Broome horse. Get in early, looks the money horse. KENNEDY is fresh, drops a stack of weight and has improved since heading to Pateman. GREYWOLF and OUR BUDDY BOY are a pair of old veterans who have been round for years and are both ultra-consistent. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MISS ELLMYA WIN RACE 5 NOBLE SPIRIT is one who is likely to go round any old price. This is a very even and open race, especially with Pearl Girl such a big unknown on return. Loved the first run for Darryn Pateman when fourth behind Miyagi, Neurologic and Trade Prize and then did it tough last start at 1400m when wide throughout chasing a hot tempo. Form has held up through Said No One Ever and English Heritage. PEARL GIRL is resuming off a long absence, not sighted for 632 days. Her overall form in Geraldton/Narrogin/York C2 and Belmont 0MWLY racing is strong and she is in the right yard, but logic says she may just need the outing. FRIARS FANCY ran well first-up but last season did struggle on the surface. HITCHINRAIL finds a new home and should be a nice pick up for Danny (Luke) Morton’s travelling team. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – NOBLE SPIRIT EACHWAY RACE 6 FOO TROUBLE looks a great Broome horse for team Farrell. First—this preparation ran third to On Red Alert (subsequent 60+ place getter), second-up ran third bhind Fair Joy and Rewrite The Stars (beating home Crystal Dane and Super Ex) and then last time out didn’t get anywhere near the lead and still was only beaten 2L. Can lead this and if finding the front prove hard to beat. CAPE SOUNION promised to win a race all preparation last season at Broome. Another live chance for Rob Gulberti. GRECO an improver drawn soft and settling on speed with weight relief. MAKFLY a new comer who will likely be suited over further but can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – FOO TROUBLE WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3,7 2,3,7 2,3,4,6,7,9,12 1,3,4,7,8 Market Market
