Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on July 25, 2024July 25, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SUPERNATURAL is the full sister to sharp sprinter Supersession and has shown ability at trials. In her most recent Lark Hill heat the top 2 skipped right away from rivals in the concluding stages. Gets back which is a query but will rattle home late and we get eachway as an insurance policy if she gets too far out of her ground. CLEANEMUP is the full sister to Oscar’s Fortune and has blinkers added after her impressive and gritty debut victory. No doubt hard to beat. NICCIMOTA will burn across and no doubt look for the fence. Think she’ll be ridden for pure speed this time around. KEEP ITA MYSTERY looked sharp in his 400m jump out. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – SUPERNATURAL EACHWAY RACE 2 RUSSIAN SNIPER is having his 20th run a preparation dating back to 26 August 2023 but continues to produce. Even with the expected scratching of Sky Duke (racing Thursday at Bunbury) there’s still a tonne of speed through Ima Single Gal, Make Your Point and Ultimate Command which allows Pike to park in behind them. He’s tough and he maps to get all the favours. ULTIMATE COMMAND goes well fresh and runs for Brad Parnham. She’s capable of chasing Ima Single Gal and holding on late. BUSTERS FREE is going better than numerical form suggests and finds a new home. MAKE YOUR POINT is an enigma. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – RUSSIAN SNIPER WIN RACE 3 MEMORY PARADE really caught the eye first-up behind stablemate Siberian Siren. She got a long way out of her ground from a wide draw and made noticeable late ground late in the race. Second-up she returns to her own age group and finds a race devoid of any real speed or pressure. Would be no surprise to see her lead this event and if she did find the top she’d be very hard to beat. KRAKEN TIME will attract the interest of a lot of punters, especially with the booking of William Pike. Settled a mile off them at Pinjarra under 60kg after a minor set back. Great effort in defeat. RISSOLES put the writing on the wall last start. DOCTOR JAY hasn’t run a bad race all prep. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – MEMORY PARADE EACHWAY RACE 4 FINAL SIREN was huge last start. Personally took him on from barrier 12 of 12 thinking he would be three deep the trip and after 200m thought we’d made the right call. Wrong. He sat three deep throughout, without any cover and was still too strong for them late. With Stormchaser winning impressively last Saturday the form has been franked and if he jumps cleanly from barrier 1 he’ll be given every chance. SOFIA’S SYMPHONY is a legitimate threat – especially if Final Siren was crossed early. Great return in the Beaufine. GINNIVAN and AIN’T NO OTHER MAN are both very quick and could pour the pressure on Final Siren. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – FINAL SIREN WIN RACE 5 ALLEZ ALLEZ went into last start 7 weeks between runs and gave emerging 4 year old Triple Jay a real run for his money. Worked around them to find the top, gave a kick on straightening but in typical Allez Allez style it was the fight he showed after being headed that impressed most – 50m past the post he was back in front! Out to a mile suits, Brad Parnham has ridden him to his last two wins and he can stalk the speed behind Falcon Trader/Savage One. Great set up for him. STARRY HEIGHTS was a sectionally solid return. He’s 5/5 at 1600m and Pike gets back on. Very wary. FALCON TRADER continues to go from strength to strength. PLAYHOUSE PATRON is going super. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – ALLEZ ALLEZ WIN RACE 6 FINE TOUCH looks to have found a nice race third-up. She’s the kind of mare who builds into her preparations evidenced by the fact that she has won 4 races in her life (3rd up, 2x 4th up and 5th up). Here she drops in grade from a 72+ back into a 66+, Brad Parnham sticks with her and she will hold a field advantage over her main rivals in running. Like the way she’s progressing and the timing looks right for her. NOTEWORTHY and FLURO NEURO are both talented chasers who are in good enough form to gun the leaders down but they’re both out to 1600m and will concede them all a head start. GINGER GREEN lumped 61kg last start to an impressive all the way win. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – FINE TOUCH EACHWAY RACE 7 PULI looks a big price as he chases a feature race double after taking out the Beaufine Stakes. Provided he jumps cleanly he should have no troubles finding the front and he’s a high-speed cruise horse who loves racing on wet tracks and gets the chasing brigade uncomfortable a fair way out. Meryl Hayley’s last 90 days: 32 starters for 6 winners at 18.8% strike rate and 64% POT – the yard is flying, the horse has an attractive racing pattern and he’ll be double figures again. Can win. VAST ART, RED FIFTY THREE and SALOON BAR are all newcomers who didn’t contest the Beaufine. They’re all more than capable of winning what looks a wide open edition of the H.G Bolton Stakes. Numbers: 4 – 13 – 12 – 5 Suggested Bet – PULI EACHWAY Same Race Multi – Puli (Top 4) + Red Fifty Three (Top 4) Wide open Bolton Stakes where any number of horses could come out and win without surprising. Puli will lead them for a long way and if he can hold on to finish Top 4 brings real value to the Same Race Multi while Red Fifty Three goes super fresh, has a soft draw and has Pike to weave his magic late. Both Top 4. RACE 8 BIRD’S THE WORD may have 61kg on his back but he’s a wet track specialist and last start he split Boots Like Bruce and Duchess Of Gossip who both head to the H.G Bolton. He drops back into a 60+ Graduation. Must respect him off the back of that effort and in a race with at least 7/8 legitimate winning chances he’s likely to hold up near double figures throughout betting. DENNIS CHOUX won first-up, no trial off 180 days last campaign. Almost identical set up here. He even beat Supportive last preparation second-up. SUPPORTIVE may have gone round 50-1 last start but won well. DREAMERS NEVER DIE was a super return to racing. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 14 Suggested Bet – BIRD’S THE WORD EACHWAY RACE 9 BERBERE put on a galloping exhibition last start with a dominant 3.75L victory and stopped the clock 4L faster than average. He’s a Heavy8 winner previously, he’s versatile, he’s got a barrier, he’s got Pike (in the last) and he looks like he’s only going to get better and better with racing. Looks the logical way home. SONOFTHEBOSS will almost certainly have to carry 59kg (Brayden Gaerth not available and no other apprentice riders) which does make his task even harder but he’s a perennially underrated horse. SIBERIAN SIREN won well fresh but this does look harder. VASILIEV gave plenty of cheek at his WA debut. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 13 Suggested Bet – BERBERE WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,4,8 4,5,7,12,13 1,3,6,9,11,14 1,2 Market Market
