He went around favourite ahead of Western Knight and Tadweer first-up in a 72+ (and was really well supported in pre-post betting) before being slowly away, tracking up three deep and finishing third. Had a few minor excuses in the post-race wash-up and here from the inside gate can kick through to lead or take a sit on the back of Cosmopolitan Girl. Looks the one to beat. GO FORWARD looms as the danger. His first-up run behind Moi Choux and Sir Mambo was a blinder without any luck at all and then he was thrown in the deep end in the Rock Magic Stakes when finishing less than 4L off Acromantula, Red Can Man and Baby Paris. COSMOPOLITAN GIRL showed versatility last start when winning one chasing. CITY ANGEL next best. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – SNOWDOME WIN RACE 2 MOUNTAIN ASH continues to go to the races, lead and win. He has now won three of his last four in identical fashion. Luke Campbell rides him brilliantly and he gets opponents uncomfortable from the 800 as he starts to up tempo and get them chasing. His high speed, high pressure front rolling tactics suit him and are proving extremely difficult to overcome for rivals. Finds another very winnable race 7 days later. MAJOR MAX is a model of consistency and a 3 year old who is going through his grades impressively. He can stalk the every move of Mountain Ash and keep him within his sights. EX SPORT MAN wobbles badly around the Ascot corner but picks up again late. MAHALEO can cut the corner. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – MOUNTAIN ASH WIN RACE 3 NO DICE is a handy mare for these Westspeed Platinum sprints. She has finished second to State of Power in a C1, won a 3 year old 0MWLY 1200 beating Cobbanco and finished second in a C3 1000 in October (in a race which caused a serious social media stir). She trialled well at Belmont Park, is drawn to follow a genuine tempo behind Some Sort and gains the services of William Pike. Sit and sprint mare with a sit and sprint hoop. SOME SORT looked like he was getting closer to another victory. Thought he was only fair last start when Leica Jaguar parked outside of him and went straight past him. LEICA JAGUAR is headed into retirement but can pinch another one of these with the right run. GLASGOW GIRL is a bit hit and miss out of the machine. Her form last preparation was strong. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – NO DICE WIN RACE 4 SHELL BELL can park and ride the speed which is likely to be hot. She has to carry 57kg at SWP but it looks a wise move on paper to have avoided clashing with the likes of Live To Tell and Super Smink in the Gimcrack. Looks like enjoying a gun run tracking the speed and her 400m jump outs show that she’s back as good as she was when she headed to the paddock. TWIST OF GOLD went really quick last weekend in the Gimcrack Stakes. 7 days later she drops back to 1000m and after the Luke Campbell claim only has 51.5kg on her back. She should be in front for a long way with the postage stamp weight and gives this a shake. AUSPICIOUS has been a trial star on a number of occasions. She’s drawn outside of Twist of Gold so can’t see her finding the top. Every chance she is posted deep throughout again. PREMIUM GIRL gets a good run on debut. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – SHELL BELL WIN RACE 5 LENIENCY is a winning machine. He was beaten a nose on debut with 59kg on a Heavy10 and since then has gone through his career undefeated. He won first-up at 1200m when sitting three deep throughout and then dropped back to what looked a less suitable 1000m when winning again last weekend. He backs up off 7 days, gets out to 1400m and is drawn to enjoy the run of the race. RUSTY DREAMS is an undefeated filly who looks to have huge upside. She also has a 6.5kg weight pull on Leniency. Thinking she may need to roll to the breeze to park outside of a horse like El Patron from the slightly tricky alley. EL PATRON was a strange run last start. Seemed to loom up, hit a flat spot and then come again. Racing well. AMBER GLIDE will need luck from the inside. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LENIENCY WIN RACE 6 SHE’S FIT parked three deep with cover and monstered them in the Natasha Stakes and then sat one out and one back before rolling to the top at the 1300 in the WA Oaks and then simply outstayed them. There will be natural queries on the depth of the fillies form (WA Oaks run 18L slower than average) but she’s run the fastest L1200, 1000, 800, 600, 400 & 200 of the Natasha and Oaks so she’s doing as much as she can with the race patterns she’s been afforded. Barrier 1 is a definite curveball. AWESOME JOHN finished third in the Group Two Tulloch Stakes and the second horse (Major Beel) came out and won the Group One Australian Derby last weekend. Form speaks for itself. ANOTHER CHINO is gunning for three straight feature wins and looks like he’ll lap up 2400m. DEMOLISH has been left a sitting duck his last two. Brave efforts. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – SHE’S FIT WIN Same Race Multi – She’s Fit (Top 3) + Awesome John (Top 3) RACE 7 MAGNIFICENT ANDY was huge three starts ago from a mile off them out deep in a leader/rails dominated race/program. He then got in a bumping dual two starts ago and was brave in the breeze when only gunned down late. Last start he enjoyed the gun run and took full advantage skipping right away. He lands a similar spot here tracking Spin The Knife/No Change/Lipstick Flickers and can go back to back. GINGER GREEN is likely on his back and his fresh win was sharp. He’s in for another good preparation. BROOKLYN PIER is simply not an apprentice’s horse. He never settled at any stage. STELLAR VISTA is in great form. She’ll likely have to park out the back from her draw. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAGNIFICENT ANDY WIN RACE 8 WEAPONSON has been a revelation for Danny Morton and has been a different animal under William Pike. The Wizard jumped on five starts ago when he found the front in a 66+ 1600 and dominated from out in front, did the same thing a fortnight later same grade, same track, same distance. Ran second to Multinational in a high rating 72+ at Pinjarra three back and then ran well with apprentices his last two. 1800 back to 1600, Pike back on, 3 weeks between runs and likely eyes off the breeze outside of Cheval De Vaga. Great race for him. EM TEE AYE can park on his back and enjoy the run of the race if that’s how the map eventuates. He’s getting closer. PLAYING MARIKA got the gaps in the Grandstand Cup and won well. She holds form brilliantly. BIG BADA BOOM was an enormous run in the same race. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – WEAPONSON WIN RACE 9 MY FURY resumed without a trial, carried 59kg and descended upon Senorita Dorotea late in the race. Gets out to what should be an even more suitable 1400m, is drawn to get an identical run in transit and is a mare who probably should have a far better winning strike rate than what she possesses. Has run into a lot of bad luck / quality company over her career. Can go on with it. STARRING KNIGHT has been beating up on moderate midweek opposition. He’ll track up powerfully into the race. Just needs a split on straightening. BOURBON BEAU absorbed a lot of pressure from Brooklyn Pier last start. Fought on well. COBBANCO ran well fresh. Again, drawn awkward. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MY FURY WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,3,4,5 2,4,5,6 2,3,8 1,2,4 Market Market
