Scott Embry’s Monday Albany Preview Posted on February 7, 2021February 7, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DANCING JACK is no star but he is doing more than enough to win a maiden at the minute. Ran second at his last two and now drops back to a mile. Holly Watson (who had been riding him well before Pike took over last start) reunites with him and he drops 3kg. From the draw he gets his chance. FEELS HOT was a tough watch for backers last start when he really didn’t get going until the race is over. Blinkers on, drawn the cutaway. No excuse. SPIRIT OF PROPHECY must be sending Bec Shanks grey (better than bald!). Will break through eventually but frustrating to follow. MY NAMES STAR very similarly has been promising to win a race for seasons. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DANCING JACK WIN RACE 2 HALATORION is on debut and the most recent trial effort at Belmont when finishing second to In The Boat really does speak for itself. In The Boat won on debut at $1.26 and then ran third in a high rating 3 year old plate to Listed filly Kissonallforcheeks. Draws well and Roy Rogers team flying. HINDISHGT BIAS finds a new home with Paul Hunter in the Great Southern. Must have a fair few issues because he has been nominated, accepted and scratched on 5 occasions. His debut was behind Bright Diamond and She’s Enchanted. Super form for an Albany maiden if Pauly can get him right. STRATHMORE ROSE returns 159 days since she was last seen and has the speed to come across. BAYZEL finds a new home with Earl O’Loughlin who improves them. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – HALATORION WIN RACE 3 KENDELS MEE DAD looks well suited to these mid/end of season c70+ races where a lot of them have been around the same mark and grade for a long while and he is still capable of improving and maturing. Drawn the cutaway to do no work and pounce late. READ THE RIOT ACT has been a different horse with Holly Watson and from the inside draw she can settle him right over the top of the speed and take cover on Corporate Larrikin if she gets taken on. Goes close. AMELIE ARGOT is travelling between Albany and Esperance and with the claim of Snaggers Sardelic has no weight. MY GREEK BOY is getting close to another win. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – KENDELS MEE DAD WIN RACE 4 WAR CLASS can prove to be a class above here. Emerging and improving 5 year old who resumed with a bang when beating home stablemates Apollo and subsequent metro winner Sowar. Then ran third to Oxbridge and Sauvegarde before running into Roy Rogers talented 4 year old Big Bada Boom. Looks the best form reference and can win better races than this. DEANGLES doesn’t know how to run a bad race and actually gets some weight relief in a vastly similar grade/quality of field. Knocking on the door. CHASING CHAOS put in his best run of the prep last start and is suited to this grade. CLASSIC JACK ran well at his return. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – WAR CLASS WIN RACE 5 CLASSIC ROGUE has been a follow horse all preparation. Resumed when running a luckless fifth at Barker, then was held up at crucial stages behind Swift Mirage and Under the Radar at Barker second-up. Went back to a C1 at Bunbury and ran into talented duo Double Spice and Castillo Del Lago in a race run 5.2L faster than average. Back to the Great Southern, back in trip. It’s now or never for him. HIGHFRIAR has hit a purple patch of form for Jono Jackmann and looks the danger. BLACK MISSILE is building quickly into the preparation. KAZKAZI gets weight relief with the claim and did it tough last start. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC ROGUE WIN RACE 6 BENTLEY’S BROTHER has been a model of consistency all preparation for Helen Harding and seems to love racing at Albany. Beat Losing Ticket and Bergio two starts ago in a wonderful piece of riding by Jason Whiting and then was more than competitive in town behind Seminole Brave, Recapitulate and Eurasia. Comes back to the Great Southern, back up to 1900m and gets another great chance. MR PAGO was given a peach by Peter Hall last start. Similar ride and run seems him go close. LOSING TICKET is never far from the action in this grade. WAR KSAR is getting closer but is taking time. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BENTLEY’S BROTHER WIN RACE 7 FOXY PRINCESS needs to find a certain type of profile of race. One where she is drawn low and chases a hot tempo. With Modern Times drawn wide, Ibiza drawn middle of the line and Round The Point (if starting) drawn deep as well they should go hard. Mad chance who is going better than it looks on paper. LONG KNIFE BROTHER is consistently inconsistent. If the best of him turns up (like last start) he’ll be winning. If the other version turns up, he’ll be left floundering. Always a price dependent commodity. DYNAMITE BAY hasn’t been seen since his encouraging win at Barker in a C2 some 39 days ago. Drawn an inside gate, minimal weight, cutaway on offer if required, he should go well. REBEL YELL finds a new home and if he can recapture his best he was once a m74 rater and is now a c70. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – FOXY PRINCESS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4,5 1,3,4,8 1,4,6 1,3,4,5,7,8,9,10,11 Market Market
