Scott Embry’s Good Friday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on March 28, 2024March 28, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 GLUTEN FREE split Parnham pair Vampi At Play and Supportive first-up at Pinjarra and then went a month between runs into a 1400 at Ascot when beaten 4.6L by talented filly Wubin Gold. He’s back to 1200m, back to Kalgoorlie and he’s struck a field of 5 starters. Great chance for him to return to the winner’s circle. NODUSTONEME has turned back the clock recently and the 10 year old is flying with back to back runner-up performances at Esperance. TIME SCALE is better than what she produced in her first preparation for Peter Fernie. MAGNIFORCE is always hard to run down if they allow him to pinch a mid-race breather. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – GLUTEN FREE WIN RACE 2 ARCADIA JEWEL has her first run for Peter Fernie after winning 2 from 7 in the Cerise and White while trained by Adam Durrant and Michael Grantham. First-up last campaign she won a 52+ 1650 at Belmont so first-up 1400m shouldn’t be a worry for her. She’s got 60kg on her back but you would think she’s capable of making her way through the lower grades in Kalgoorlie. FLEUR DELACOUR hit the line hard first-up and then was far from disgraced in a metro C3 last start. Nice race for her. TALKABOUTYOU is a model of consistency but has struggled to break through and win races. MINOR DETAIL is on a 6 day back-up from Pingrup. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – ARCADIA JEWEL WIN RACE 3 RIGHT TO SILENCE should find this a far more suitable assignment than her recent outings. Trialled well at Lark Hill before going into a 1200m maiden at Belmont when beaten 3.5L by Milstee, Champeze and So Nataya before heading to the 3 year old Magic Millions at Pinjarra when less than 5.5L off the winner. Last Wednesday was 35 days between runs and was 3L off them in town. Much easier this. FLYING THE FLAG had his first start for Josh Brown after leaving Team Pearce. Shouldn’t be a maiden too long. YAKYAK is a long time maiden who might want further. SUNTINO ran his best race yet last start. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – RIGHT TO SILENCE WIN RACE 4 DUBLIN RED looks hard to beat in this 1200m maiden. First-up she finished second to Spectacular Park (who heads straight to a 60+ Graduation at Ascot on Saturday) and it was a race where they really broke the field open with some big beaten margins. She was 3.4L off in second, however, the fourth horse (who isn’t too bad at all) was beaten 5.75L. In front against the fence on opening day is usually a good spot. WANNA CRACKER had three starts last preparation and all three had merit. The debut run behind Red Flora was strong. NO PLASTIC continues to go close without quite breaking through. NORTHERN SUNRISE trialled well at Lark Hill. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DUBLIN RED WIN RACE 5 BLUE CAN TALK looks a country mare on the rise. First-up winner of a maiden by 1.75L, two starts later won a C2 by 2.25L and last start carried 60kg and won another C2 leading all the way by 1.75L and stopped the clock 5L faster than C2 average. Everything points to her being very popular in betting and going very close to winning again. TREASURED QUEEN is another Ex-Bob Peters mare who has changed hands and lobbed with Peter Fernie in Kalgoorlie. She’s still eligible for a C1 but her 60+ Grad form still looks excellent for a race of this nature. BLAZING PASSION won well last Esperance meeting. HIDDEN RUBY can always go well fresh. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – BLUE CAN TALK WIN RACE 6 HAFEY was really well found in betting last start by punters and gunned down Janny from a fair way back on the corner. To the eye it looked like Janny was on a jump and run mission and reviewing the sections of the race the first half of the race was run 10L faster than average. Did a great job to run her down and with a confidence boost see no reason why he can’t win again. COUNTER DRIVE is going really well. The last two runs at Esperance were full of merit and he should find the front here. IT’S A LANCE is suited over a bit further but without the trial should be fresh. JAKESTAR an improver. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – HAFEY WIN RACE 7 BETTER THAN EPIC resumed at Esperance in a C2 1100 without a trial when finishing second behind highly promising mare Blue Can Talk. Drops from a C2 back into a C1, should only improve second-up after a couple of lengthy absences from the track and should land a nice spot close handy from the draw. Looks hard to beat. CELESTIAL FOX had a 400m jump out at Lark Hill earlier in the month to prepare her for her first outing for Peter Fernie. REBEL SQUAW finished off well in the Blue Can Talk / Better Than Epic race. BELLES FANTASY is going well and gets a soft run from the draw. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – BETTER THAN EPIC WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,6 3,7 1,5 2,3 Market Market
