Scott Embry’s Friday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 17, 2019October 17, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MIDNIGHT BLACK looked like he was about to break maiden status earlier in the preparation with strong runs at a mile and 2000m. Has been given a month between runs after flopping last start and lobs a weak maiden here. IN LUCK looks a bit of a one paced grinder and debuts at a mile. SURE CONVICTION has been racing well since joining Cliff Smith. GOD’S LAND next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT BLACK WIN Race 2 DIRTY DOT has run into two good ones at her most recent runs: Concrete Madame and Ziebell. This should be her race for the taking, jumps and controls. EMERALD ROSE has one of her final chances of the Kalgoorlie season to finally break through for a win. She keeps racing well and keeps catching the eye. Can start 25 be the day? ROSEICAILLA has improved markedly since jonining Gary Bowen. BLUE TURNS TO GREY has returned to racing well. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – DIRTY DOT WIN Race 3 MR GENOA was an intriguing WA debut. He is one of the best looking Blackfriars going round and ran to his looks first-up. After the post had an unexplained tumble. If he reproduces that run he’ll be making it 2 from 2 for LK Fernie. WHERE’S WALLY is suited in this grade. His last start effort was strong and he carries weight. HAYAN LAD should lead this field from the inside. TRUTH AND LIES is clearly the second elect of the stable. Interesting to note the King of Kal is relegated to stable #2. Numbers: 2 –1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – MR GENOA WIN Race 4 PARADISE SQUARE has held form all season and this looks a suitable assignment and the start of potentially a big quaddie for Mitchell Pateman. Draws awkwardly but is versatile and Pateman can sum up the race early. WOCKNWOLL has hit a purple patch of form and deserves a crack at 70_ company. BADGE OF COURAGE is probably at his mark and finding it a bit tough to win races but always goes well. BELLS TOWER leads and always takes running down. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – PARADISE SQUARE WIN Race 5 CONCRETE MADAME showed the maiden win was no fluke. She took control of the race and never looked like losing. While it was a leader bias day she was still very impressive. PASTRY is better than what she showed first-up and second-up. Looking for an improved performance. HERRON SAND ran out of her skin last start and a repeat puts her right in the finish. DRIFTWOOD GIRL is not firing at the minute but draws soft. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – CONCRETE MADAME WIN Race 6 GLUTEN FREE two starts ago was caught off the track in a fast run race and then almost held off the fast finishing The Last Waltz last time out. Again drawn sticky but second crack at a mile he’ll be better for the experience. MURRAY THE BULLDOG can pull very hard and Yuill may elect to let him run. If he finds the fence he can pinch it on the corner. THISORTHAT is racing in very good form and wins one soon. THE LAST WALTZ was eye catching two starts ago and duly saluted last time out when Newitt went on. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – GLUTEN FREE WIN Race 7 SMARTY is going to go through the grades and looks a real Perth horse in the making. Was given a good ride by Pike last time out but was able to let down powerfully late and stamped herself as one to follow. CAN HE RULE HER drops in grade and has been racing well against stronger opposition. CHHAYA is very hard to catch but has a strong turn of foot on her day. URQUELL landed good bets last time out and can go on with it. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – SMARTY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,4,7 1,2,6 2,3,5,6 3 Market Market
