Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on August 3, 2023August 3, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DENZOE makes the trip up to Carnarvon for Ash Maley and he’s somehow convinced Michael Poty to head up on a Friday afternoon. She’s a long, long time maiden mare but she should be able to work forward into a prominent position and Maley’s usually go well on the dirt. SORAIS has blinkers added and Tash Faithfull rides over the stablemate City Mistress. Worth nothing. CITY MISTRESS will march forward into a prominent position and ran well at her first outing on the dirt. CALICO KID next best on the freshen. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – DENZOE WIN RACE 2 ROEY CLAM returns to Carnarvon. He was two from two at Carnarvon before venturing to Marble Bar and Port Hedland. Back in grade and back to a surface he’s proven on. Keep very safe. PRORATED was on trial at 1600m last start and saw out the trip no worries. He’ll sit up over the speed and the way he got to the line suggests that he’ll have no problem with an extra 100m. Tash Faithfull sticks and he’s capable of going back to back. LAUTRE tried hard in the Port Hedland Cup last Saturday. Going super for the new stable. IM A BUSH CHOOK ran well last start. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – ROEY CLAM WIN RACE 3 MAN FROM MEMPHIS is a 40 start Class 1. Fair to say he’s had a lot of chances but he’s returned in great order. Second behind Roey Clam, fourth behind Gracie Bird and subsequent winner Prorated and then fourth behind Prorated and Im A Bush Chook who look live hopes in Race 2. Drops back from a 64+ into a C3 and now a C1. One more time. RAGING BEAUTY has been a great pick up for Peter Moses. Really consistent mare but possibly vulnerable late over 1600? Looked home on the corner last start. BEST TESTIMONY descended upon them two starts ago in a maiden. AMERICAN AGENT is on the Ash Maley tour team. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – MAN FROM MEMPHIS WIN RACE 4 MYSTICAL MAN and TEST OF STRENGTH meet again. They did battle in the Minilya Sprint over 1200 when Test of Strength was able to hold on. They now meet again over 1400m with a 1kg weight swing in favour of Mystical Man. Drawn alongside each other and likely to fight out the finish again. Siding up with MYSTICAL MAN to turn the tables. TEST OF STRENGTH is three from three this preparation and is doing it tough and still winning. He’s placed out to a mile so the distance shouldn’t hold any fear. BIG BLOWS is always a chance. REGAL CITY is slowly building. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – MYSTICAL MAN WIN RACE 5 LOOKING GREAT was an encouraging run last start. Carried 62kg first-up, carried 60kg second-up and now carries 57.5kg. If he was to jump cleanly he could lead this field and from there he’d be tough to get past third-up into the campaign. THE CROWN PRINCE was strong last start. His best and worst are a long way apart but on his day he’s a handy Carnarvon type. ROMMELS RETURN has had a long preparation covering a lot of kilometres but continues to race well. NICK OF TIME can show a big turn of foot when he works into his races. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – LOOKING GREAT WIN RACE 6 MAJOR IMPACT is only having his third run in WA. Held his own on the grass in a C1 at Belmont and then 44 days later won a 56+ 1000 at Carnarvon. Should only improve for the experience and was too strong late for Moorumbine who looks the main danger again a fortnight later. Only 1kg difference in weight and importantly Tash Faithfull sticks. MOORUMBINE was working home well through traffic in that same event. Not stepping as well as he once was which is hurting him. NORTHERN IMPACT is dangerous fresh. RAKIURA should find the top. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – MAJOR IMPACT WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3,5,7 5,7 1,2,4,5,9 2,3,4,5,10 Market Market
