Scott Embry’s Friday Albany Preview Posted on April 3, 2025April 3, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LADY COCO finished a narrow second last start at Albany when beaten in the final stride by Gingerbread Girl. Back to 1000m, should bounce out and can always hand up to Outlaw Music if they let him run and now with visors instead of blinkers hopefully that will do the trick to get her across the line. A REBELLIOUS LOT has run into some nice Great Southern gallopers in recent trials and has finished within 2L of them. Watch on debut. OUTLAW MUSIC is quick and now they put shades on. SANSANEE was backed well at odds first-up but didn’t fire. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – LADY COCO WIN RACE 2 CASSENITE went around first-up over 1200m at Pinjarra and finished 4.4L off Awesome Boy, Shamillian Miss (races Thursday at Pinjarra) and Favoured Son. That’s good enough form to be heading to an Albany maiden and meeting with good support. Tash Faithfull on a big lead. CALL TIME is one of a few travelling gallopers for Brandon & Lucy Fiore. Their horses must always be respected and the trial was sound. GETS THE GIRLS may still want further but can hit the line well. ULTIMATE PARADISE gets a cheap run. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – CASSENITE WIN RACE 3 BLUE LINE has been a solid campaigner in Albany for a long time and yet again the Sam Faithfull yard is keeping up the impeccable strike rate that seems to be on show each and every year. Drawn to get the right run and was a dominant near 2L winner off a 56 day freshen against a line-up of similar ability. STORM COMMANDER and FIRST LAW are both 33 days between runs and both are actually drawn the right barriers for their style of racing pattern. Both can win. MORGS FREEMAN went around in a Bluff Knoll then lumped 61kg. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – BLUE LINE WIN RACE 4 LATE ARRIVAL has his first start in WA and might be worth following. His only win was first-up over 1500m so clearly he’s well short of his best distance range (placed out to 1800m) but his trial alongside Brave Spirit was easily good enough to be competitive. Will get better into the prep but can win this. SECRET STONES is back to 1000 and can be allowed to run. Hard to get past. FIREY PANZ doesn’t win out of turn but this does look a nice set up for her. DODGE EM isn’t an easy horse to catch but this isn’t deep. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – LATE ARRIVAL WIN RACE 5 SIDE SHOW was $16 into $4.20 at Belmont Park two starts back and got the job done to land the plunge. He then stepped out in a 60+ Graduation when finished 3.75L off Correct Choice, Henry The Aviator and Golden Dore. Back to a country C2 looks great placement. TIME CONNECTION broke her maiden over 1500m and finds another race where she can park up close handy and get every chance. WHERE’S MY LUNCH was good first-up without a trial at 1500m. ANGELS MY NAME has been going better than numerical form suggests. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – SIDE SHOW WIN RACE 6 WARRALEA LASS won under Rosie Mahony at Narrogin three back, won a 60+ Graduation at Ascot two back and then last Saturday only folded up late when finishing sixth in a 62+ in town. On the 6 day back-up, drops back in grade and looks well placed to score. WHAT A PRINCE is the class galloper and his recent runs behind Filthy Habits have been huge. Can carry weight (winner in Geraldton with 60) and will take beating. PURE CHINO should have finished closer last start after being held up at a crucial stage. ALBERICH is getting close. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – WARRALEA LASS WIN RACE 7 SAULOK won back to back races, a 58+ 1500m leading and winning, a C2 1600 leading and winning and then struck a wet track last start and also had to breeze. He’s proving a bit of an all or nothing commodity so expect that Luke Campbell is foot down to cross them. JUSTAMIDDY beat him by 8L last start so it would be no surprise to see him go back to back. Nice purchasing by new connections. FLYING SOUTH is deep into the prep and isn’t as sharp as he was earlier. MAKIN PROPHETS wasn’t suited at Pingrup. Forgive back to grass. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – SAULOK WIN Quaddie (Race 4 –7) 4,5 1,3,5,8 1,2,10 2,3 Market Market
