Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 3, 2025April 3, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 HUGOTASTIC (4) has overcome back line draws to record impressive victories at his two WA starts and he should bring up the hat-trick tonight. CHASING HILL (4) has led or faced the breeze in all five starts this time in but I expect that he will sit on his stablemate tonight and is a great chance to fill the quinella position. MENEMSHA (9) was a narrow but impressive first-up winner but the draw and speed map are against him tonight. IDEAL MUSCLE (2) should enjoy a nice run behind the speed and can be placed again. Tips: 4 1 9 2 Suggested Bet: HUGOTASTIC (4) to win. Race 2 BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (3) doesn’t have the gate speed to cross but he is racing consistently and will be hard to beat if he can find the front in the early stages. GREATGREAT BOULDER (9) ran on to defeat BLAMEITONTONIGHT (3) at his last start and will be charging home again, particularly if the favourite doesn’t get an easy lead. RELATIVELY ARMA (2) had no luck first-up and looks a big improver tonight. CEE DEE THREE (12) ran a nice 2nd to the smart Hugotastic here last week and can figure if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 3 9 2 12 Suggested Bet: GREATGREAT BOULDER (9) each way. Race 3 SISTA SAMMY (1) is a good frontrunner who trialled nicely for her return. She isn’t the best horse in this field but looks to get a fairly soft lead and she should prove hard to catch. MIKIS BEACH (10) resumes without a trial but he raced extremely well last time in and will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time. SPYGLASS (8) has a tough draw to overcome but he is flying and must be considered. FRISKY STYX (12) was well-backed when a disappointing 7th at his first run back from a spell but should be fitter for thast effort. Tips: 1 10 8 12 Suggested Bet: SISTA SAMMY (1) to win. Race 4 GEE HEZA SPORT (9) made a big impression in his first campaign since crossing the Tasman and won his last four starts before going for a break. He resumes here without a trial and is drawn wide but he still appeals as the one to beat as he stakes his claim for a Nullabor slot. The last time AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (3) took on the boys was when she defeated a similar field in the August Cup and she looks an obvious danger to her stablemate. SANGUE REALE (8) defeated Minstrel and Magnificent Storm in 1.49.9 at his last start so must be considered despite the wide draw. EL CHEMA (6) needs a solid tempo to bring him into calculations but will be charging home if that does eventuate. Tips: 9 3 8 6 Suggested Bet: GEE HEZA SPORT (9) to win. Race 5 WATER LOU (8) has won 21 of her 30 career starts and is a very classy mare. She resumes here from a short break and appeals as the one to beat after recording an impressive standing start trial win recently. PENNY BLACK (9) has the advantage of race fitness over her main rival and is sure to make her presence felt. SWEET VIVIENNE (4) has recorded two all-the-way wins for Chris Voak and will give them something to catch if she can find the lead in the early stages. JACKIE DANIELS (1) is one of only two horses on the front and she will become a good place chance if she can step cleanly and sit on one of the fancied runners. Tips: 8 9 4 1 Suggested Bet: WATER LOU (8) to win. Race 6 ROLLING FIRE (6) finished just behind the placegetters in his the 4YO Classic and Golden Nugget before going for a spell. That form reads well for a race of this nature but he is first-up and Justin Prentice doesn’t normally have his horses fully wound up early in their preparation so monitor the betting. STAR CASINO (2) is racing consistently and will be prominent throughout from his nice draw. ROCKANDROLLARTIST (5) has been slightly below his best at his last two starts but reunites with Aiden De Campo and will give them something to catch if he finds the front. HOPPYS WAY (4) looks the early leader and can improve at his third run back from a break. Tips: 6 2 5 4 Suggested Bet: ROLLING FIRE (6) to win. Race 7 FAKENIT (4) was an all-the-way winner in good time on debut and then copped a check at a crucial stage when 2nd to Reinette. She will be improved further for that experience and is clearly the one to beat. DELULU (7) followed some strong efforts with a 1.56.6 win here on Tuesday and is an obvious danger but isn’t as well drawn tonight. FINUALA (2) is a well-bred filly making her debut and her trials indicate that she will win plenty of races. RUBY LOU (5) has finished just behind the placegetters in all four starts this time and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 4 7 2 5 Suggested Bet: FAKENIT (4) to win. Race 8 MY WATCHLIST (8) was well backed at his first start back from a spell but was comprehensively beaten by Belly Up. He will derive great benefit from that run and looks extremely hard to beat here. CHACO EAGLE (1) followed three disappointing efforts with a better effort here last week and could lead and give them something to catch if near his best. KURIOUS BOY (5) has overcome wide draws to record back-to-back victories but goes up in class tonight. ACUTO (10) will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 8 1 5 10 Suggested Bet: MY WATCHLIST (8) to win. Market Market
