Scott Embry’s Ascot Good Friday Preview Posted on April 18, 2019April 18, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 UNENDING was scratched before the race last start when lashing out. Fresh here, back in trip, as long as she took no lasting effects from the incident it looks a very winnable assignment and she is wet track proven. JESTER NOIR either leads or box seats and the way he ground out last start looks as through he will get the trip. WORLD IS YOURS will wind up down the middle and is progressive. ELSA’S TRIBE has shown zero so far this campaign but grew a leg on a rainy day at Northam last prep. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – UNENDING WIN Race 2 WAR SAINT looked sharp in a 400m jump out and then the shades went on over 950. Ran around and was very green but also hard not to be impressed by the way he accelerated. Will have plenty of supporters on debut. PROTECTED ACTION needed a bit of encouragement in the recent trial but once hitting top gear ran through the line well. YARDMAN is a Zoustar colt on debut who has had a number of educational trials and preps. CAMBIST ran well on debut and improves for the outing. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – WAR SAINT WIN Race 3 CITY CIRCLE is starting to reach full potential and really has put it all together this preparation. Beaten first-up by Bedouine Belle and then bolted in second-up. Was well backed in a Saturday when running a big third and then saluted odds on last start. Versatile type who can be ridden to track conditions. BEDOUINE BELLE rarely runs a bad race and is rock hard fit. DRIFTSTAR is a jury out horse. He could bolt in, he could run last. Interesting to see if he goes to Friday or Saturday. FRIDAY FILLIES won like a nice horse down the 1000m straight first-up. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – CITY CIRCLE WIN Race 4 FINALLY FRENCH is a bit of a tough case to follow. Finished top 2 at 7 of his 8 starts but has only won once. After the claim he is well weighted against fairly moderate opposition but will need luck or a peach from McNaught. Trial and race form suggests he will be hard to beat and can sit three deep no cover and out class them. OLGA LOUISA is bursting to win a race. Has been impressive a number of times in defeat this campaign. JADE REEF has a fair share of ability but is still learning. LORD GREYSTOKE was a big drifter fresh and ran accordingly. He may be a lead or lose commodity. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – FINALLY FRENCH WIN Race 5 SOY TAN RAPIDO gave returning apprentice Chloe Azzopardi a winner with her first ride back and this looks another nice race for her. Was only run down late on a Soft7 so should get through the going and will be allowed to roll. UNIKAT is no doubt the most intriguing runner in the race. Winner of 3 from 4 before being transferred from the McAuliffe stable to Durrant. Big danger. GIFTED WARRIOR may be suited over further but has run some good races as a 3 year old. KEEPER’S TALE the blow out with the right run. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – SOY TAN RAPIDO WIN Race 6 DIVINE QUEST improved 5L when the shades went on last start. His win was super impressive to the eye and the sectional break down equally as imposing. Expect him to run these down. ARNIE’S BOY likely finds the top for McNaught and the Maley stable is in white hot form at the minute. GEOGRAPHE BAY lobs into a nice spot from the draw and is ultra consistent. ARTIE’S JEWELS is only a maiden but has ability and this is not a deep race. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – DIVINE QUEST WIN Race 7 LADY COSMOLOGY vs MIZLECKI is an intriguing clash in the Sheila Gwynne. By this stage of the day the track has likely deteriorated and there could be as much as a 30km Westerly blowing. Going to side with Mizlecki who can really rattle late in her races and was very impressive in the Old Comrade. LADY COSMOLOGY can lead without challenge and will take serious running down. ELECTRIC LIGHT stamped herself a top liner last start and gets it soft from the draw. CELEBRITY DREAM is always well suited in these set weights and penalties races. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – MIZLECKI WIN Race 8 SPECIALISM was only fairly away in the Karrakatta and eased back through the field to 4 back the fence. From there she was impossible but still ran a big race. She could conceivably lead this field and get it cheap. Can turn the tables on the boys. TINSNIP was the run of the race in the Karrakatta and looms very hard to beat. BEETHOVEN drew the river last start, prior to that was a sectionally impressive winner. DIVIDE THE SEA draws to get the right run. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – SPECIALISM WIN Race 9 FRIAR’S GIFT is a hard horse to catch but has been in solid form for most of the preparation. Tough race to finish up but should be in the mix and gives Brodie Kirby a wonderful opportunity to remind punters how highly he was rated before his suspension. FLYING ROAR was a video replay run first-up. Doesn’t normally fire fresh and his effort was very encouraging. FAIR FOOT was beaten by the ambulance first-up but could improve sharply at odds. DETANGO is never far from the action. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – FRIAR’S GIFT WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 3,10 2,4 2,3,4,5,8 2,3,4,9 Market Market
