Hasn’t had a trial but given he’s a very quick gelding it’s understandable that you would go straight to the races. First-up last preparation at Geelong he lead them up in a 1212m maiden and was only run down late by a length. The former $110,000 yearling looks a nice acquisition for Never Stop Lodge. HIDDEN RUBY is first-up as well and she showed glimpses at Kalgoorlie last season. Her best run was clearly her last in October when only 4.8L off My Bella Mae and Admiration Express. TIMELY OUTBURST was only run down late first-up at Kalgoorlie before running into Go Go Grommet at Pinjarra. WE WONDER WHY next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – FLOBA WIN RACE 2 SEND ‘EM went to Pinjarra first-up when leading and finishing third behind Lady Cabernet (since a C1 runner-up) and Debonnaire (since run well in a maiden). Then finished 5L off Chinobrown after being slow away before getting held up at a crucial stage. This is a very weak and thin maiden and he could well work his way to the top. If he finds the fence, he’s very hard to run down. MR KOHANA is a long time maiden who has raced a lot over the Esperance and now early Kalgoorlie season. Pinches one eventually. LAUGHING BUDDHA was alright fresh at Narrogin. HIT THE LIGHTS an improver. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – SEND ‘EM WIN RACE 3 CHARCOAL CHAOS is a lightly raced 4 year old mare who should be suited to the Kalgoorlie style of racing. Thinking that the satellite stable that the Pearce Brothers have set up is going to be a very successful venture over the course of the season and it’s these C1/C2 types that they’ll reap the most rewards with. Good race to kick off her preparation. BOOZEROO is the danger on paper but it’s the 61kg that’s a concern. If he can carry the weight he’s hard to get past. ROMERO has had genuine excuses at both runs back. HOLE IN ONE resumed in a 57+. This C2 is far more suitable. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHARCOAL CHAOS WIN RACE 4 MEN’S CLUB finished second over 1200m at Kalgoorlie behind Wise Words before leading throughout to win a 1200m 64+ at his second start in the region. Backed it up with an all the way win last start at 1100m and from the inside draw gets a wonderful opportunity to put up a winning hat-trick. Think the end of the 1200m will just about see him out but he’ll get every chance from the low draw. DUNBAR finally broke through last start after a long run of outs that dated back to his 2 year old days. He can stalk and pinch another. MAGNIFORCE is always there abouts this grade. SEMIGEL can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – MEN’S CLUB WIN RACE 5 CELEBRITY WITNESS looked to have found a wonderful race on paper last start and she duly saluted. Her previous runs at the KBRC were full of merit from woeful positions in races short of her pet trip. Now that she’s won again and gets out to a mile she looks hard to beat again. Parks and rides the speed and is tough in her races. VINYL was some win last start. Seriously good ride from Victoria Corver aka The Stick and showed an incredible burst of speed. DEEL RED was a sharp improver last start. Once he finds form, he tends to hold it. Can work his way to the top here. FILTHY HABITS runs his races in patches. Looks gone in the straight but comes back under pressure. Has ability, yet to work it out. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – CELEBRITY WITNESS WIN RACE 6 ABLOH had to cover a mountain of additional ground last start. He took off a long way from home, swept around the field and then was fought off late by Boozeroo. Should be even better suited out to 1400m and provided he gets a touch of luck early from the outside gate he’s the one. Ready to win. GRECE LIGHTNING was only 1L off Vinyl and Filthy Habits last start. We’ll see the depth of that form in R5. ONEMOREFORLEO has put together two good runs in Kalgoorlie. This is a fair bit deeper though. SILVER FLYER isn’t leaving the gates that well. Would love to see her find the front one day if she ever jumped again. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – ABLOH WIN RACE 7 ANNA’S BOY will look to slide across and find a position just behind what is likely to be a spirited early speed battle (Total Lockdown, Town Hall, Another Demon). If Tash Faithfull (region’s leading rider) is able to slot him in, he’ll go very close to making it back to back wins. Had to dig deep to gun down a tear away leader Town Hall last start. TOWN HALL should only come on from that effort. No doubt John Arthur Mason thought he’d pinched it first-up before he got the staggers in the last 50m. NICKLAUS ran third in that same event. It looks the obvious form reference race. TOTAL LOCKDOWN got the job done fresh and now has only 54kg after the ZJP claim. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – ANNA’S BOY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4 1,2,4,9 1,7 3,5,7,8,10,11 Market Market
