Rosehill 30 January – Thoroughbreds Preview

Chris Nelson’s Preview

RACE 1 No.3 Marenostro

Chris Waller trained gelding who has returned in good order with a first up win and a second up narrow placing to his credit. The effort was game here last time out going under by the small margin after racing without cover throughout. With the sting out of the ground likely tomorrow he’ll be well suited and can return to the winners list.

RACE 3 No.5 Defcon

Highly rated youngster from the Snowden team who was purchased for 340K. By the brilliant racehorse and sire Choisir (terrific wet track sire) out of a 6 time winning mare he’s had the two trials winning the latest of those at Rosehill in good style. That’s a sure sign with this stable that he’ll be ready to go tomorrow.

RACE 7 No.4 Our Boy Malachi

Bit of a forgotten horse this one from the Team Hawkes stable. Unfortunately he bled in last year’s Doomben 10,000 when finishing a long last. Overall though his record is envious having won 17 of his 21 starts of which 6 have been first up. He won a trial in good style at Rosehill recently by 3 lengths suggesting he’s come back in top order. He can bounce back into the winners circle.
