Chris’ Randwick Best Bets Posted on April 21, 2017 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 5 No. 4 Like A Shot Canberra trained galloper who put in a good performance on his home track two starts back when far from suited in a sprint home affair yet he was able to make good ground down the straight. Latest outing he struggled on the Heavy (10) surface at Warwick Farm never getting into the race after a tardy start. The step up to 1400m tomorrow looks suitable and I’m expecting him to run well on an each-way basis. RACE 6 No. 9 Grand Dreamer Victorian trained galloper from the Robert Smerdon stable who has had the one run back from a break finishing close up at Ballarat late last month. His second up record is good and he has had the benefit of a recent Caulfield jump-out (ran 5th). In form jockey Kerrin McEvoy has been booked, the early money has been strong, looks primed to win. RACE 7 No. 6 Nieta John Thompson trained mare who resumes from a break tomorrow with an imposing first up record. She’s yet to miss out at both fresh starts to date and has also won her only 3 outings on Soft ground which is the likely rating tomorrow. Two recent trial placings will have sharpened her up nicely for tomorrow’s assignment.
