Paul Joice’s Gold Coast Best Bets Posted on March 17, 2022March 17, 2022 | Posted by Paul Joice Race 2 No. 5 – Already Blessed Quietly confident this Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old can run a cheeky race first-up. In the quinella at three of five previous first-up attempts, he does sprint well fresh and kept plenty up the sleeve in a recent Doomben trial. This is the right grade, Ryan Maloney booked so with an ounce of luck from a slightly tricky draw I’ve got to have something on at the luxurious odds. Race 3 No. 16 – Isabella’s Spring May not possess the greatest strike-rate but has hit the quinella at 11 of her 19 career starts so is certainly reliable. Comes through a strong form race when a late closing fourth behind Dealmaker & Knight Mariner at Toowoomba last start. The horse which finished fifth there, Mosshiki, has since come out and bolted in at Eagle Farm. Gets the right barrier to settle close enough, like the booking of Samantha Collett and the step to 1800m looks ideal. Each-way for me at the double-figure odds. Race 6 No. 5 – She’sgottheboom This undefeated filly appears set to continue that trend in the $500,000 Aquis QTIS Jewel 2YO (1200m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday. The Steven O’Dea & Mathew Hoysted-trained daughter of Spirit Of Boom showed enormous ability winning at Toowoomba last start, absorbing pressure mid-race before exploding away from rivals in the straight. With tactical speed, a favourable draw and further improvement expected, she looks the bet of the day. Quaddie 5,10 5,6,2,1,8 2,1 3,10,4,5,2 Market Market
