Oli Cownie’s Tuesday Bunbury Preview Posted on July 23, 2024July 23, 2024 | Posted by TABtouch Race 1 BELLY UP (1) was a real eye catcher last start when shuffled back three pegs in the early stages he eventually got off the inside pulled wide and went very close to nabbing the leader Twilight Tango. LOU LAMOUR (2) impressed last start when racing outside the leader and battled on for a close up third. FILLMYPOCKET (5) was tracking up in behind them last start with nowhere to go looked to be bolting. Goes around for the powerful Prentice camp so has to be respected. SEASIDE MAGIC (9) was doing his best work late in the race last start and looks to set up similar here. TIPS: 1 2 5 9 SUGGESTED BET: FILLMYPOCKET (5) each way. Race 2 HOT ROCKEFELLER (10) first up effort was strong into second when facing the breeze there. Made an error in a strong 3YO race last start and has since trialled well. ALTAR (9) was a strong third two back when powering into it late. Didn’t have things to suit last start from a wide gate. Looks to get a good run through early. CONTROL QUEEN (2) recent efforts have been a lot more impressive for this type of race. Second to Itsoktobegrey last time out was strong. STRIKING A DEAL (6) impressed in a recent trial behind Water Lou when hitting the line well. TIPS: 10 9 2 6 SUGGESTED BET: HOT ROCKEFELLER (10) to win. Race 3 WELEASE WODDEWICK (12) sat behind the leader Caberneigh last time out and just battled late into third. Given the poor draw I think it is hard to entertain taking a short quote about this horse. MANGO TANGO (6) Mitch Miller takes the steer on this horse that I think is actually racing quite well. Second last start over the lightning lap behind Betterthansecret. VISITING HOURS (4) is racing well. Has had the right run a few times in recent placings but was able to do the work last time out and battle on for third. SPIRITOFANANGEL (11) battled into second last start after sitting outside the leader. She’s a horse with no tactical speed which can sometimes make life harder for her. TIPS: 12 6 4 11 SUGGESTED BET: MANGO TANGO (6) each way. Race 4 COPY CAT QUEEN (5) raced in the Dainty’s Daughter last start and was well beaten but was unsuited off the pegs back in the field behind Water Lou. This is a big class drop and she looks hardest to beat. SWEET IVY (3) really caught the eye last start. Got back to last off the pegs at Gloucester Park and flew into fourth running through the line strongly. PECUNIOUS (2) showed gate speed last start and was a great effort into second there behind Goodealehmaddie. If she can find a similar position in this race she can figure. OUR LILILOU (6) worked to the line strongly last start. If she can find a soft run she can finish off well. CATCH THE RED EYE (10) found the lead eventually last start but was first beaten and ended up tiring badly. A few weeks between runs she can improve in this. TIPS: 5 3 2 6 SUGGESTED BET: SWEET IVY (3) each way. Race 5 MIKIS BEACH (10) is a lightly raced now 4YO that returned from a spell impressively scoring last time out at Bunbury. Faced by a tricky draw it’s unlikely to trouble him if he shows his best. FLYIN DISCO (8) think he will get a perfect run for the type of horse he is. A high speed sit sprinter think he can run through into second or third off the leaders back. TRUNKEY CARRAWA (1) looks the likely leader in this race. He impressed two runs ago when second to the smart Insta Gator. ARIONROCK (9) has options in the early stages. Appears to be racing well and was a winner at Gloucester park two runs ago. TIPS: 10 8 1 9 SUGGESTED BET: FLYIN DISCO (8) to place. Race 6 GULLY GUM (3) looks likely to land on the front end. He holds the key advantage in main rivals in this race and is a good front runner. Took a flying Sorridere to run him down recently at Bunbury. MENEMSHA (5) is a classy gelding that was able to win nicely on return from a spell. Is likely to find things tougher in this but certainly wouldn’t shock if he just proved too good. TANTABIDDI (9) is a really high speed horse and draws to get a nice run through in the early stages. MASTER LEIGHTON (6) was impressive two runs ago when right in the finish off a 40 metre handicap. Last time out finished midfield behind State of Heaven at Gloucester Park. TIPS: 3 5 9 6 SUGGESTED BET: GULLY GUM (3) to win. Race 7 MEGA RAGE (2) lead last time out and probably very much had his chance there into second. He has very good gate speed so has options and dictates the early map. BANK NOTICE (3) has gate speed and was impressive two back behind Flybye Lou. SKIPPIN CLASS (5) was beaten a long way last start but Flybye Lou but was wide early and then was the first horse 3 wide late. Total forgive think he’s a likely improver. WHITBYS WORLD (4) faces a tricky draw but can figure with luck. TIPS: 2 3 5 SUGGESTED BET: SKIPPIN CLASS (5) each way. Race 8 GET YA BETS ON (5) looks a strong class dropper. Has good gate speed IM ROCKIN ROD (8) was tucked away a long way back on the pegs last start and appeared to be travelling easily. Never got a clear crack at them late. LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (4) was detached from the main body of the field last start at stages. Ended up piercing through gaps late and was pretty competitive in the end. This looks easier. ROAD STAR (7) didn’t impress first up when well beaten albeit behind a nice horse in Mandown. Happy to keep him safe second run for the new stable. TIPS: 5 8 4 7 SUGGESTED BET: IM ROCKIN ROD (8) each way. Race 9 MADDY MADDY (7) is the class runner and powered into third last start behind Miss Shahja. Finished 5th two runs ago but was beaten just one metre there behind Imahero. SWEET SASSYMOLASSY (2) was making late in rounds up the inside two runs ago before last start ending up last in the run and was forced to make a long wide run. That effort was good enough for this.FIORD (6) comes into this race third up from a spell having taken on much tougher last time out he got back and never got into it but wasn’t beaten too far for second.HEART OF SAHARA (8) wasn’t beaten too far by Cohlin and Walsh over the mile last time out at this track. TIPS: 7 2 6 8 SUGGESTED BET: MADDY MADDY (7) to win. Market Market
