Michael McDermott’s Weekend Preview Posted on January 6, 2017January 9, 2017 | Posted by Michael McDermott Mandurah Friday 6th January 2017 Race 3 – No. 5 Humphrey Bale — SuperPick Profit Plus 20% (Place) Race 11 – No. 6 Starlight Audrey Race 12 – No. 1 Bean Monelli Bet Now Cannington Saturday 7th January 2017 Race 7 – No. 7 Lofty Ambition Warmed up for tonight’s assignment when resuming with a handy 520m win on Wednesday from a similar draw to this. Placed in one of two over the trip in the past and she has led all the way in much tougher FFA company over the longer 715m at this track. If she gets across from the outside draw without much fuss then it would be no surprise to see her going back to back in this field. Race 9 – No. 1 Texan Star Brought up his first victory as a veteran last start when leading all the way over 490m at TABtouch Park Mandurah in a handy 27.90. Prior to that, his last win was over this very distance, albeit in easier Grade 5 company when leading all the way as well. He has a strong record in red and he should be able to hold his form now that he has reached peak fitness. Race 11 – No. 3 Shift Pattern The son local legend Miata was highly impressive on debut when saluting from an outside draw at TABtouch Park Mandurah and breaking 23 seconds in the process. He jumped well and got across the field to race hot on the heels of early leader Sin City Boy before asserting his authority in the home straight and race away with the prize in stylish fashion. He will strip fitter for the run and should take a power of beating for the Stuart kennel.
