Michael McDermott’s Weekend Greyhound Preview Posted on July 16, 2021July 16, 2021 | Posted by Michael McDermott Mandurah Friday, 16th July 2021 Race 4 – No. 7 Yunderup Magic Will find this a whole lot easier than his past four where he was tackling the best 490m chasers in the state, still managing to place in two of those. The only concern is the wide draw but a safe getaway should see him overcome that hurdle. Race 6 – No. 6 Classy Riot No luck from a similar draw last week when moderately away and covering plenty of ground throughout. Prior to that he was narrowly beaten in good time and a repeat of that run should see him bounce back in this. Race 10 – No. 3 No Tax Sparingly raced of late but will be fitter second up, has a favourable draw and does drop a fair way in grade. If he can recapture his early toe, he can take plenty of running down. Each Way: Race 5 – No. 3 Sleepy George Has been plying his trade over the 490m in recent weeks, finishing on the podium three times. Does his best work over this trip though and will be hard to stop if he can run anywhere near his PB of 22.47. Quaddie (Race 5 to 8): 2.3.8 / 2.6.7 / 1.5.8 / 1.2.6 $50 for 61.72% Bet Now! Bet Now! Cannington Saturday, 17th July 2021 Race 7 – No. 4 Stout Monelli Loyal supporters have sunk a few stouts in recent weeks when going under in both his heat and final of “the Westcha$e”, both from this very draw. Prior that he was a winner in his only two outings over this longer journey and while this is a strong line up, he should be able to remain unbeaten over the trip. Race 8 – No. 5 Lee Ali Gallant in defeat to finish second last week when squeezed out of play early and almost turned sideways before recomposing and working home to only be beaten by 2 lengths. Another awkward draw but will win one soon so keep following. Race 10 – No. 7 Razor’s Edge Versatile chaser who has been in fine form of late over surrounding distances at varying tracks. Yet to salute in three attempts over 520m but he will find this line up easier than those outings. Will be powering home at the business end and prove hard to hold out. Each Way: Race 5 – No. 7 Myrtle Monelli Not disgraced in her only try at 600m when midfield in a Paradise Street Trophy heat behind more seasoned mid-distance chasers. Has been finding the 520m too short of late and looks ready to step back up to this trip. Strong claims for a podium finish. Quaddie (Race 5 to 8): 1.4.6.7 / 2.5.7.8 / 2.4.8 / 1.5.7 $50 for 34.72$ Trifecta – Race 8 1.5.7 / 1.5.7 / 1.3.4.5.7 $30 for 166.66% First Four – Race 2 3 / 1.4.5.7.8 / 1.4.5.7.8 / 1.2.4.5.7.8 $50 for 62.5% Bet Now! Bet Now! Cannington Sunday, 18th July 2021 Race 4 – No. 8 Zipper Zip Zip First up from a lengthy spell but has recently trialled over the trip in 16.25. Will appreciate the wide draw where she gets plenty of room to move. Capable of a forward showing. Race 5 – No. 1 Yankee Fun A long time between drinks for both topping the podium and wearing the red rug, both a week apart well back in early January. Only needs to jump with them and he will be fighting out the finish. Race 9 – No. 1 Charos Diamond Yet to miss a place in all of her past seven, all over this trip. The red is also a big advantage and she looks set to play a major part in the finish once again. Bet Now! Bet Now!
