Michael Heaton’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 11, 2019June 11, 2019 | Posted by Michael Heaton Michael Heaton’s Preview Race 1 COMES A TIME produced as good a trial as you will see on May 13 and the way he hit the line suggested he’d eat up 1200m-1400m. He was still able to win over 1000m on debut and the step-up to 1200m here looks ideal. HOLY GHOST was beaten narrowly by COMES A TIME on debut and the blinkers go on here. He can lead and give a big sight. GOTTA MOTOR backed up his impressive trials with a nice effort at his first start and was scratched from a race last Saturday in preference for this. SNIPPY MISS has hit the line well in each of her two outings and should get the run of the race. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – COMES A TIME WIN Race 2 LIPSTICK FLICKERS recorded career-best figures in her impressive last-start win and maps to lob one-out, one-back here. Hard to beat in a race where there is a slight query on the favourite. SHOWMANSHIP makes his race debut and has trialled very well but hasn’t been seen for six weeks and the bar shoes going on suggests he has encountered issues of late. WAKAN TANKA was a dominant maiden winner two starts back before having no luck in Saturday grade last time out. He drops in class here and should land in the box seat from gate two. EMERALD ROSE has disappointed in her last couple of preps and is still a maiden but is coming out of a very fast-ran race and is one to include in the exotics at odds. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – LIPSTICK FLICKERS WIN Race 3 CLASSY LASSY showed plenty of ability last preparation and resumes without a trial here. Her dominant 6.3 length maiden win on debut was ran six lengths above benchmark and she has drawn ideally for her return here. WILDONBROOK also resumes and was tuned up with a trial without blinkers recently. The shades go on here and she can lead or box seat from the good draw. OKINA KURI has always shown signs of being above average. Pike jumps on here and she should be able to settle three-back-the fence and track up some of the main fancies. ASCOT GOLD ran huge time on the rock-hard Northam track last time out and can slide across from his outside draw to settle on the speed. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – CLASSY LASSY WIN Race 4 NICKLAUS resumes off the back of two decent trials. He recorded huge figures first-up last preparation and maps ideally here. MAGIC EMPIRE is knocking on the door after placing at his last five starts but has been a costly commodity in that time. CALAG has been going okay and looks suited dropping back from a mile to 1400m. THE VAMPIRE has been a noticeable improver for his new stable and is coming out of a very fast-ran race where he had no luck. He’s drawn to get the run of the race. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – NICKLAUS EACHWAY Race 5 MACHINO MISS has won three of four this preparation and returned exceptional figures last start. That form has been franked with runner-up Light The Fuse winning at its next start and she can make it three on the bounce here. FROSTY BAY led and gave cheek last time out before finishing second to a progressive type. She can work her way to the breeze her and the 100m drop in distance is in her favour. ZARATITE hit the line nicely in a recent trial but is still green and might be looking for further. GESSATO has struck hot sectional races at his first three runs back and can lob one-out, one-back here. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – MASCHINO MISS WIN Race 6 MANKIND backs up off seven days from a luckless run in a race ran nine lengths above benchmark, has won his only start on a soft track and has the addition of blinkers for the first time. Gets his chance to land Hayden Ballantyne his first chicken dinner at each-way odds. CHOICE COMMAND has ability but is still learning his trade. He has the early speed to be able to slide across from his wide draw and find a position. LOOKOUT has been freshened and his last two starts have been in much stronger than this. MELTAME backed up a nice trial performance with an impressive win first-up and Pike jumps on here but she maps awkwardly. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – MANKIND EACHWAY Race 7 AMELIE ARGOT can lead or box seat from gate one and she looks well-placed after the claim of the in-form Jade McNaught. SIGIL had no luck last time out and his recent form rates off the charts for this race, but there would be a stewards’ enquiry if he was tipped as the on-top selection. This looks his race but that has been said countless times since his last win 1,120 days ago. ROSEBUSH produced an eye-catching finish from near-last in a hot Saturday race last start. She drops in grade, should settle much more prominently from the better draw and a senior rider goes on. M’LADY’s last three starts have been in much stronger than this and Chris Parnham jumps aboard here. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – AMELIE ARGOT WIN Race 8 PLAYING MARIKA has a horror draw to overcome but still looks hard to hold out with any luck in running. She looked a progressive type winning her first three starts last prep and her two runs this time in have been in very hot sectional races. BEAT THE BELL is capable of reeling off huge late sections and made up a stack of ground first-up. She resumed without a trial on that occasion and should take natural benefit. SNOWCHINO was poor first-up but her previous form suggests she can improve sharply. TRUE IMAGE races first-up and missed the kick in a recent trial but worked home okay. She has to be respected. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – PLAYING MARIKA EACHWAY Race 9 SEND MY LOVE has the tag of a non-winner but rates off the charts here. She was beaten narrowly in 64+ grade in her past two outings, drops to a Class 3 54+ here, races very well fresh and her two runs on soft tracks were solid. HOODLUM THUNDER also resumes and trialled okay without blinkers recently. The shades go on here and he can give a big sight on speed at each-way odds. SAN CRISPINO maps awkwardly but loves a wet track and her peak figures are good enough to give this a shake with luck in running. JIMMY RAPID bolted in at Albany last start and flies in the wet but this is much stronger and he has a horror draw to overcome. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – SEND MY LOVE WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,5,6 1,4,8,9 4,6,7,9 2,3 Market Market
