Michael Heaton’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 9, 2026June 9, 2026 | Posted by Ethan Roth RACE 1 WESTERN JET has placed at 2 of his 3 career starts to date, including first up last preparation when second to now-Saturday winner Maalis Song, and found the line well under little pressure in his recent trial. He has tactical versatility and can overcome his sticky draw. PARATY also resumes off the back of a nice trial and placed to progressive fillies A Summer Fling and I’m Odette in his 2 starts last prep but he has an awkward map to overcome here. WHITE HOT raced like she wanted a bit further last week and now steps from 1100m to 1300m. CAWARRA has been better this prep and Chris Parnham is riding in top form. Numbers: 4-6-10-9 Suggested Bet – WESTERN JET WIN RACE 2 PAINT IT RED bolted in first up, no trial in a C1 then was thrown into a Saturday race at her next start where she bumped into a sharp field. She now drops right back in grade to a C3 with blinkers on for the first time, rises only 0.5kg after the claim and should lead unchallenged. NEW TARGET will need some luck from a tricky gate but she’s a handy short-course filly and she trialled up well alongside Zourun Run without blinkers in her recent 400m trial. BRAVE WASP is only coming out of a maiden win at his first start for Mitch Pateman’s yard but has always flashed good ability and looks capable of going on with it. MILLSTEE was a sneaky nice trial and loves a rain-affected track. Numbers: 1-4-2-3 Suggested Bet – PAINT IT RED WIN RACE 3 PINCER MOVEMENT is only coming out of a 1500m Maiden win at Albany but aesthetically it was one of the more encouraging debuts you’ll see given the conditions. He struck a heavy-10 track and looked very raw but he was able to win with ease and appears to have upside. ARIZONA SKY was a dominant maiden winner 2 starts back then produced a brave effort when 3-deep the trip in a C3 and coming again late for a nice third. He’s now back in grade and gets a good claim. TAKE A LEAF was stiff not to go awfully close to knocking off the impressive Special Counsel at Northam after getting held up last start. WILD THINGS looks better suited by both the drop in grade and rise in distance. Numbers: 2-1-6-3 Suggested Bet – PINCER MOVEMENT WIN RACE 4 VANDOULA JET has hit the line nicely at her first 2 starts back and now backs up off 7 days with blinkers on for the first time and should be able to get the right run parked in behind the speed. The yard is going well and she looks ready to break through. SPIRITED STRIKE also backs up after finishing second in a high-rating 1000m race last week and the step to 1200m and 5kg drop in weight suits. GOD’S RAPTURE is an 11-start C1 who hasn’t won since a 2YO victory in March 2025 but she’s a big class dropper having raced exclusively in either Saturday, Group or Listed level at each of her 11 career starts. DELTASON is a talented type resuming first up, no trial and his last win was at this track/grade/distance. Numbers: 8-3-6-1 Suggested Bet – VANDOULA EACH WAY RACE 5 SUPIDO EXPRESS won on debut as a 2YO almost 2 years ago and hasn’t won again since but he’s still been very consistent, looked good in a soft recent trial and he’s never missed the money from 5 starts at Belmont. He should get a sweet run parked just behind the speed for an in-form yard. SHE’S HOT resumes off the back of 2 trials where she did her best work through the line and this is a nice race for her to kick off in. CONDUCIVE’S first-up win was on a heavy-10 at Albany but she won soft and Pike sticks. GREAT PROMISE comes out of 2 high-rating 1000m events and can lead this but 1200m looks a query. Numbers: 1-4-10-5 Suggested Bet – SUPIDO EXPRESS WIN RACE 6 I’M ODETTE got the job done first up despite having to sit-sprint from the box seat which probably isn’t her strength and she looks a handy filly who should only improve as the distances increase. This is a stronger field but she should be able to be kept out of trouble from the gate, she gets an extra 100m and Pike sticks. GOD’S GRIN was unlucky first up when held up for a fair portion in the straight before finishing a narrow third to Two Time Charlie. She’s a highly consistent mare and she should get the run of the race. ROMANTIC RULER will be better over further but will find this a lot easier than the hot 66+ he contested first up and he’ll appreciate the wet track. ANCIENT GUIDANCE has been solid at his 2 runs back and is an out-and-out mudlark so the wetter the better for him. Numbers: 6-8-1-2 Suggested Bet – I’M ODETTE WIN RACE 7 WYNN LAS VEGAS resumes 2 months between runs and without a trial after finishing third to Sentimental Legend/Aberdeen Flyer in the Melvista Stakes before contesting the WATC Derby. He showed first up last preparation he can sprint well fresh and he has options from the draw. DOMINATUS also contested the autumn feature races and was beaten a nose by Playin’it Sweet in the Challenge Stakes first up in that preparation. Beautifully placed and hard to beat if he can reproduce that fresh run. PRINCE OF DALA didn’t get much luck last start and can roll forward here. APPARATUS never looked likely last week but made good late ground and now backs up. Numbers: 5-3-1-9 Suggested Bet – WYNN LAS VEGAS WIN RACE 8 HOPE TO RULE looks well placed. 3 starts back led and won in this grade at Pinjarra, last 2 starts placed at Saturday Graduation level and now drops back in class in a race she can bounce to the top in and dictate terms. SHIMONOSEKI was a nice run at her WA debut then she won well second-up. She might be a query on a wet track but she’s a lightly-raced 4YO with more wins in store. MYZOOM hit the line super behind Shimonoseki and gets a 1.5kg swing on her for a half-length defeat. EXTREME LOVE was a better run than reads on paper last start and her 2 wins to date have both been on rain-affected tracks. Numbers: 2-10-9-7 Suggested Bet – HOPE TO RULE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,4,5,10 1,6,8 1,3,5 2,9,7,8,10 Market Market
