Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on June 9, 2026June 9, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Even speed and an even race to start the card. HIT SQUAD may lead, PARI MOI adds pressure. COLIZZI gets a sweet drop in behind, on a heavy track the inside could be off, need to see first. TAGALON and URBAN CREED look to come down the middle of the track, so too BANK HEIST. TAGALON is ready to win, a solid each-way chance at the odds. The improver could be POLAR PERSPECTIVE up in distance, she is still very green. Selections: 9,10,3,4 Suggested Bet: TAGALON ew RACE 2 KING MAYWIN was game first-up, trapped wide but in a rhythm and they weren’t going quick so entitled to find. Suspect he’s better on top of the ground. NEDHAMMER NED trialled ok prior to a good debut at Moe when too far out of his ground, finished off well. JENNI POPPINS appreciates the wet ground and will go forward, Williams & Kennewell, in-form stable and jockey. EXPANDING POWER also has wet track credentials, third-up may now be ready. Selections: 10,3,4,8 Suggested Bet: JENNI POPPINS RACE 3 Keen to follow ON THE LOOSE onto a wet track, got last crack at the speed at Geelong and has improved with racing and since joining the new stable, a hlaf relation to stablemate Liberami. WONBOYN is the most progressive horse in the field and tries hard. He resumes, a synthetic jumpout was no guide with no vision. The late betting is key. Bedggood stable has a good hand in this race, both lack early speed and will come from the back, JETSETTER JACK appears his best chance. Selections: 6,2,8,3 Suggested Bet: ON THE LOOSE win RACE 4 Poor race and nothing would shock. There is speed engaged and looking for something to come from back and wide to finish over the top. Like the way LAURA ELIZA has trialled although not really exposed, won a 1000m jumpout at Moe with plenty in hand. BELLABAMA showed ability when trained out of Warrnambool, debuts for the new stable and wary of sharp improvement. ENEY MEENY won a jumpout at Cranbourne, 1200 first-up is a query. ESTATE AGENT creates interest, looked ok in recent Pak jumpout, worth including in multiples. Selections: 11,6,3,4 Suggested Bet: LAURA ELIZA ew RACE 5 If the track was dry BELLA CINQUE is a huge shout, she has a big finish over the 1000m short course and there is a lot of speed engaged. An unknown on heavy or at least not yet proven. Respecting DISMANTLE first-up for Mark Walker, generally a stable that leaves some in the tank first-up, ex Tony Gollan, may prove too good for this bunch. WINCHESTER would need to be wound up to win off a long break, in capable hands to do so, watch betting fresh. MAD ABOUT MAGNUS looks the speed from a low draw, wet track unknown. Selections: 5,10,4,8 Suggested Bet: BELLA CINQUE each way RACE 6 SHE’S A CON has a poor win strike rate but does appreciate wet ground, she’s resuming in a winnable race and not out of this. PRINCESS MESS is fit and flying and on the up for the in-form Payne stable, she does go forward, if that’s the pattern of the day she’s the one to beat. BRONTE BEACH can run a race second-up with the claim. PROVEN SOUL has a win in him and now third-up cold be ready to peak. Selections: 11,5,2,8 Suggested Bet: SHE’S A CON 1 x 3 RACE 7 Hard to split two key chances. Nice race for VERONA RUPES first-up to continue the Payne-train dominance of these country tracks. Gets a sweet map in behind the speed and has a good finish to be figuring late. GOLDEN SPRITZ will make his run with the Payne runner, has the race fitness edge on the other and also in well at the weights with a 3kg claim. THINXZO launched home last start and can be a tease and needs to back it up, capable. GARNACHO also a winning hope. Selections: 10,8,5,11 Suggested Bet: VERONA RUPES & GOLDEN SPRITZ win RACE 8 The Patrick Payne winter juggernaut can roll on again here. BRILLIANTEZZA was impressive winning on debut, gab between first and second runs and raced flat at Pakenham, did get warm late. Up in distance helps. HARBOUR TOWN is one-paced but did win on debut and was ok second-up, this is not overly strong to find the winners stall. SILVER PLEDGE can improve second-up for the Payne stable. Selections: 10,2,3,11 Suggested Bet: BRILLIANTEZZA win Market Market
