Michael Heaton’s Sunday Toodyay Preview Posted on September 26, 2025September 26, 2025 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 HIS EMINENCE has found a highly suitable race. He’s raced exclusively in higher grade throughout his career, is a x2 54+ winner dropping back into a country 46+ and was beaten only a half-length in a 60+ 2 starts back. This looks very winnable despite the 61kg impost. CRIMMO is looking to break a 1,034-day drought and backs up after finishing fourth in the Mount Magnet Cup last weekend. His runs have been solid enough for this. ROSA BALLERINA comes off a north-west dirt prep and should be able to take up the running. LATHAM’S WISH an improver back onto the grass and with the bar plates off. Numbers: 1-2-8-7 Suggested Bet – HIS EMINENCE WIN RACE 2 NATIVE FLOWER’S one and only win was more than 2 years ago now so she’s clearly a hard horse to catch but this looks a nice race for her. She pulled up with vets excuses after her first up run and most of her efforts last prep when running 4 consecutive placings would see her hard to beat here. AUNTY JEAN rises 6kg from her first up run but is still well placed. She’s contested metro-rated 60+ races at each of her 5 runs since finishing second with 62kg in this grade and distance at York and she’s a previous Bunbury C3 winner. ELSA’S PRIDE only trialled on Monday but wasn’t knocked around, is an honest type in this grade and will be on-speed. SIRIUS STORM gets a senior rider back aboard and is worth including off his first up run behind Niccimota and Prince. Numbers: 2-1-3-7 Suggested Bet – NATIVE FLOWER WIN RACE 3 LIPSTICK JUNGLE has placed at 5 of her 6 starts this prep and deserves to break through. She ran out of her skin to finish third to Yorga Pride and Snow God in a 3YO Saturday race at Belmont earlier in the campaign and since then she’s either raced wide or got too keen but still raced well. Hard to beat. PRINCE AMONGST MEN ran second to Gold Vancouver in a Bunbury C5 and now drops sharply in grade. His last 9 starts have been in metro-rated 60+ events and he’s a previous 0MW winner and 2-time C3 winner so he’s well placed. MAGNACHINE drops back 200m deep into her prep but she’s been racing well in stronger company and will be on-speed. PACIFIC BOXER didn’t look the same horse last prep and has trialled 3 times this time in. Numbers: 3-4-2-1 Suggested Bet – LIPSTICK JUNGLE WIN RACE 4 QUICK AS SILVER was held up on straightening first up in a Bunbury Maiden but still able to finish fourth to Spank Appeal who franked that form with another impressive win at Belmont on Wednesday. That looks the obvious form reference here and some of his efforts last prep were also good enough to measure up. NOW SHOWING caught the eye late in his trial and has shown glimpses throughout his career. He ran a bottler first up without luck last prep and this appears to be the easiest race he’s seen. MEMPHIS MINX joins a new yard and was only beaten 5L by Riva Aquarama, Xentara and Saam Time Lucky 2 starts back. HEILUNG is hit and miss. Numbers: 1-3-10-5 Suggested Bet – QUICK AS SILVER WIN RACE 5 TORQUE OF WAR appears to have found the right race. First up this prep he hit the line strongly to finish <1.5L off Saam Time Lucky and only a half-length off subsequent Saturday winner Who’s Bent before drawing wide second up and again doing his best work late. Tested over a mile last start but now comes back to 1350m against much easier opposition and has blinkers going on. MR UNIVERSE stuck on well to only be beaten a couple of lengths by Heeza Phoenix (races Saturday) last start. He can roll forward again. DESERT MADAME went better than reads on paper first up when held up at a crucial stage in a race which has since produced Toronado Rocket. She wasn’t far away last prep but the map looks tough here. FLY AWAY FLIRT next best. Numbers: 1-3-8-5 Suggested Bet – TORQUE OF WAR WIN RACE 6 Tricky race. SNIP OF GOSSIP has drawn 9/9 but trialled up alongside God’s Rapture then beat Wembanyama (races Saturday) in a nice first up win. He’s clearly returned well, drops in grade from a last-start win and has the tactical versatility to punch forward if they wish. FOREVER DREAMING hasn’t won in nearly 2 years but this is the lowest grade she’s ever raced in by far and she gets in with 58kg after the claim. She ran third to Yonga Lass in the Gr3 La Trice on Perth Cup day last year and hasn’t raced below a metro 58+ in her past 29 starts. CROWS is battling along okay and Chris Parnham makes the trip to Toodyay on a Sunday for one ride. POLYVANOVA took a while to break through last prep but is an honest type who can kick through to lead. Numbers: 4-1-3-7 Suggested Bet – SNIP OF GOSSIP WIN RACE 7 CAPABLE ANGEL is going great guns for the new stable and looks like a horse who would suit the Toodyay circuit. She finished alongside subsequent 66+ Saturday winner Decision Maker 2 starts back then travelled boldly and was still strong late to win last time out. She has the speed to roll forward from the outside draw and the 1850m looks within reach now. ILGIRO DELMONDO is the proven performer but has some queries. She’s unplaced from 15 starts on good surfaces and has never won below 2200m so she looks and out-and-out wet track staying type who might not be entirely suited here. SALARY MAN is hard to catch but he’s improved out of sight under Mack Hall’s care. He looks the map horse and carries just 51kg. THE ROOSTER has been building into his campaign and gets blinkers on for the first time. Numbers: 3-2-8-9 Suggested Bet – CAPABLE ANGEL WIN RACE 8 QUEEN’S SACRIFICE resumes and isn’t usually a fresh horse but this is a suitable assignment for her. Her recent trial defeating Gr3 winner & $400k earner Red Sun Sensation was good and she kicks off in a lowly 46+ with only 58kg after the claim. She won an Ascot C1, a Kalgoorlie C2 and a Kalgoorlie 58+ last prep and should be on-speed for a long way. LADY NEGRONI was good at Kalgoorlie last start and has been ticking along okay this prep but now draws the outside and rises both 3.5kg in weight and 150m in distance. CANGGU won at this track/distance in a slightly higher grade this day last year for his previous stable and carries only 1kg more now. MONTY ZOOMER races first up for a new yard and has beaten Queen’s Sacrifice home at all 3 of their previous encounters. Numbers: 1-5-4-2 Suggested Bet – QUEEN’S SACRIFICE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,8 1,2,4,5,6,7 2,3,8 1,2,4,5 Market Market
