Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 7, 2026July 7, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 SCANDALEYES (3) won well on debut and looks to have a great deal of talent, should be further improved with race experience as she steps on to Gloucester Park for the first time and should be another win in the bank. NEVELE ARMA (4) has depth and can do the work in the race, and the stablemates can control this, looks the top 2 player. SEASPIRIT (5) is drawn to get a good run and will run on well, strong novelty chance again with URSULAS WISH (6) who was very impressive in her two wins but draws awkwardly and comes in fresh, presents a new challenge. Tips: 3 4 6 5 Suggested Bet: 3/4,6/4,5,6 to Trifecta. Race 2 CANELO (2) appeared disappointing in a slowly run race last time out but has the speed to work to the top in this and out in the lead I am expecting a strong performance, and prior form was suggesting a win wasn’t far off. VYBRANT (1) drawn ideally should be no further back than behind the leader and from there is a strong contender again. WRITE RITE RIGHT (5) was beaten on his merits first up in moderate time, can improve off that but faces a tricky draw. MONTERIO (6) is good enough to play a part but has just been sound in recent lightning laps. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (11) will be running on well; he didn’t have much luck last time out and RAMBO RABBIT (10) a novelty chance. Tips: 2 1 10 11 Suggested Bet: CANELO (2) to win. Race 3 TORREVEAN AMY (1) is now third up into the preparation and may try and hold the top here, both runs have been sound with a noted improvement second up, looks a major player in this. MAJOR BUZZ (5) is racing strongly and must be considered again in this but it’s an awkward draw for him but has shown good versatility in recent runs. FUEGO CRUZADO (2) is racing well but just needs to settle in the first few to feature again. FIREPLAY (10) ideally drawn and is a novelty chance. SHES A MARE (3) won well on Saturday but isn’t one to do it at both ends so the draw becomes a problem. DANGER (7) and STRIKE MASTER (8) need luck from their draws but will run on. STAR OF ORION (11) racing soundly. Tips: 1 5 2 10 Suggested Bet: TORREVEAN AMY (1) to win. Race 4 PRINCE OF TRIBECA (2) comes in fresh but is ideally drawn to run to the lead here and prove hard to beat, his overall form has been good this preparation. BRODIE BOY (1) could lead if he wants too but has been in the wilderness a bit in recent times, his last run was better and could see him hold a top 3 position. ROCK PHONE (6) was hard to get a gauge on first up and is awkwardly drawn. SOUND WAVE (7) is ready to win but faces a challenging draw, could be put into the race tonight. MAJOR MANHATTAN (4) is not a horse that can do his own dirty work but will be running on again. BY ROYAL COMMAND (10) a novelty chance from the draw and BEACH CAPTAIN (11) is one of the few who can be put into it. Tips: 2 1 7 4 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF TRIBECA (2) to win. Race 5 ART IDEAL (6) could charge across and lead here; he is a quick beginner and can get keen and I would imagine anyone who wants to hold him out will end up with a headache. WICKED HUSTLER (5) lacked early speed last week and was crossed and then had his chance but couldn’t get the job done, he has had mixed form since entering the new stable and has the ability but sometimes lacks the application. MORE SASS (1) returns and is talented, she’s got the speed to be close and earn on return. BET ON THE RIVER (2) racing soundly and is a novelty chance with HAVEYOMETTED (4). RAKERO RAIDER (10) can win but just needs some luck in running. LOU LAMOUR (7) faces a tough draw with ROCK ME OVER (8). Tips: 6 10 5 1 Suggested Bet: ART IDEAL (6) to win. Race 6 DAWSON SHARD (8) is one that can do work in the run and has proven to run decent races and hold good form and can commence nicely. BETTOR BE BUCKS (2) is a maiden looking to break through taking on horses who have won races, her early speed is just ok and that’s quick enough to get around the pole marker but has had a few chances to break through and finding it hard, can win but wouldn’t be diving in too short. SPINNER OF YARNS (5) returns, and his best is good enough but may need the run. ALLWOODS CHEVRON (10) is racing well and can work off the pegs into a decent spot early. GEARSINAWHIRL (4) a novelty chance with his early speed. Tips: 8 10 2 4 Suggested Bet: ALLWOODS CHEVRON (10) each way. Race 7 ALFA JESS (7) by now if you’ve been following her at the shorter quotes, you’re now likely at the traffic lights on Canning Highway busking for your next dollar, she has been very costly and although this race looks hers for the taking you wouldn’t be diving in with confidence. MY SALINA (2) looks the early leader and wasn’t a bad effort in a depleted maiden at Pinjarra, fitter and will be close enough. PAPPINBARRA LADY (3) needs to be on speed, winning chance if she can lead. ROCKNROLL DILINGER (6) won well last time out, will be running on again. THREE FLAMES (8) racing soundly, outside chance and looks a drop in grade overall and PRINCESS AVIATOR (9) has the ability but can throw up a few tricks. Tips: 3 7 9 2 Suggested Bet: PAPPINBARRA LADY (3) each way. Race 8 ELLEOFAREACTOR (3) hit the line nicely last time out and looks suited in this grade, will be close enough to the speed and appears a major player in this. SHES MY LITTLE GEM (1) led and was beaten on Saturday in moderate time; unsure they’ll try and lead this. PHILTHEJUG (2) needs to lead to win in my opinion and a few question marks on her gate speed especially with SONIC SEELSTER (4) in the race, but he has been handing up as of late so creates a tactically fascinating first few hundred metres. IDEAL WHITBY (6) and BEALAWYER (8) both capable as they’ve been there, done that. Tips: 3 2 4 8 Suggested Bet: ELLEOFAREACTOR (3) to win. Race 9 MCGEE (3) has the draw advantage over his main rivals and is a star trotter here in the west but bumps up against the other star trotters, looks to run to the lead and at the mile I think they won’t catch him. His only concern is MRIYA DREAM (2) who can begin like a flash or gallop, nothing in between. MAJESTIC GA GA (5) has trialled up against Insta Gator in good times and been trialling in top fashion, was the benchmark for a large portion of the last 18 months. MYSTERY FRED (4) is highly talented and faces the challenge of a mile but looks a strong chance. LUVAFLAIR (6) will be running on. Tips: 3 5 4 2 Suggested Bet: MCGEE (3) to win. Market Market
