Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview

Race 1

Open race. FUEGO CRUZADO (1) is racing well enough since returning, can mix her early speed and would be a good chance to win if she led but unsure that will happen with EASTON QUALITY (2) drawn along side who is a quick beginner, on the back up from Saturday and is preferred at this distance. GAMETIME (5) will race in the first half of the field and be dangerous, consistent performer. PHILTHEJUG (4) lacked early speed at the lightning lap last run but can begin better than that, should be handy. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (8) is capable, draw hurts but will be running on. ALTAR (9) will be getting home nicely but needs luck.

Suggested Bet: GAMETIME (5) each way.

Race 2

Speed could be on here. HEAVENLY BLISS (1) likes to lead and so does SPORTING GRACE (2) and both could set solid sectionals which could open things up. VYBRANT (3) is ready to win, draw suits as she can slot across and be running on strongly. STARRY HEIGHTS (5) is still learning the racing game but looks to have ability, should be further improved. REDDY TO FLY (7) finally broke through last time out and will be getting back and running home well. DANGER (8) was in the battle with him Saturday and will also be running on but both need some luck. STIRUP IRON JACK (9) could find it hard to get into the race.

Suggested Bet: VYBRANT (3) to win.

Race 3

LADY OF LEITH (1) was crossed by quick beginners last start, never saw daylight and it comes down to if she can hold the top then she will go close, ready to win and distance suits. ALFA JESS (5) will roll forward and wasn’t a bad effort last run, strong claims in this. STAY CLEAN (6) creates interest and will run a bold race in this contest, keep safe. QUEEN OF ALL (8) will be rolling forward and can be hard to hold out if she can get to the breeze. BETTOR BE BUCKS (2) was solid on debut for the new stable and then moderate second up, early speed a concern but may not have handled the quick backup. SUPREMEDREAM (7) is racing well and continues to improve, won’t be far away.

Suggested Bet: LADY OF LEITH (1) each way.

Race 4

MISS VINCENZA (2) is going to get the run of the race here, should bounce off the last run and build fitness nicely, looks a strong chance to get the late split and be dangerous. SALSAWITHSIERRA (1) has the speed to lead but can get fiery which leaves her vulnerable late. GO JACK CROCKER (4) will be close enough but will have to do some work in the run. MAJESTIC REALE (3) has shown promise and drawn to be close enough. MORE THAN HONOURED (8) will be running home strongly.

Suggested Bet: MISS VINCENZA (2) to win.

Race 5

RAKERO RAIDER (8) was hitting the line strongly on return against a nice field and looks suited here even from the wide draw, second up and looks hard to beat. WICKED HUSTLER (9) was luckless last run and forget he went around two starts ago, suitable grade and can be driven accordingly in this. BY ROYAL COMMAND (2) could improve but has been racing slightly below his best. MYSTA MOON WALKER (3) will charge forward and look to lead, could be cheeky if he was able to get the front. TAKE A HIKE (3), LORD PUBLISHER (6) and COLD HARD CASH (10) all novelty chances.

Suggested Bet: RAKERO RAIDER (8) to win.

Race 6

MAKE IT HAPPEN (4) will come out hard and look for a forward position, better run last start and looks hard to beat in this lineup. STRIKE MASTER (5) is suited to this grade and should settle close enough and will be running home well. KARAOKE STAR (1) can mix his early speed but if he is in the first few, he can earn, form has been up and down. GOV STARZZZ (2) was better last run and should lead early and has options. STAR OF ORION (7) will run a handy race again and novelty chances to BUNJIL MAN (6) and OUR MAJOR JACK (9).

Tips: 4 2 5 7

Suggested Bet: MAKE IT HAPPEN (4) to win.

Race 7

CAPTAINS CREEK (6) finds the most suitable race this time in, will likely be short but should get the job done in this. SYNCHRONIZER (2) has the speed to lead and has options from there, more than capable against this lineup. ON THE BACK FOOT (8) will settle back and run-on, well-deserved win last time out and looks a solid top 3 contender again. NOWUSEEMEGRIN (4) and ISAIDBOO (7) both novelty chances.

Tips: 5 2 8 7

Suggested Bet: CAPTAINS CREEK/SYNCHRONIZER to Quinella.

Race 8

DAWSON SHARD (5) was a beaten short priced favourite last time out but seems to begin quicker from middle to outside draws, will come out looking for the top and be hard to beat as he searches for his first WA win. GEARSINAWHIRL (1) has the speed to lead early but is finding it hard to break through, distance suits. AXLE ROCKS (10) drawn to get a good run and form hasn’t been too bad, will be dangerous if the gaps open. FIREBALL FRIDAY (2) comes in with a chance along with FIORD (7) and ALLWOODS CHEVRON (11).

Tips: 5 1 10 2

Suggested Bet: DAWSON SHARD (5) to win.
