Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarrra Preview Posted on June 22, 2026June 22, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 CHARLIES TACTICS (5) has a front row draw to try and take luck out of the equation in this after a debut defeat in the state, looks a strong chance in this. MRIYA DREAM (6) good front running type and begins better from wider draws, should charge across and be hard to run down if he led. ELISH STAR (2) drawn to be prominent and is a novelty chance with his early speed. BEE BEE BEROC (11) faces a challenging draw as he does his best work on the peg line. KYVALLEY PAINT (1) might need a run but has shown promise and THE WHIZ KID (4) can run time but still learning the caper. Tips: 5 6 2 4 Suggested Bet: CHARLIES TACTICS/MRIYA DREAM to Quinella. Race 2 SCANDALEYES (2) reads up well, trialled up nicely last time in and comes in fresh can show a sign of confidence from the camp, bred well and happy to play. FUNNY AS (7) has ability and battled on soundly first up, early speed can come into play here. MADE FOR ME (4) still a bit green but seems progressive and should be prominent and run well. WOODBRIDGE ROSE (1) has the good early speed to lead initially but has options on return, down the track in a recent trial and this is the first time she has moved to the middle distance which could test a speedy filly like her. EDGE ELEVEN (6) faces a challenging draw on return. Tips: 2 7 4 1 Suggested Bet: SCANDALEYES (2) to win. Race 3 EKARA NAVAJO (5) is not racing at her best but drops in grade nicely and can be driven aggressively to lead and hold it this week, middle distance could see her control the race and be hard to run down. CHEKKER (6) pegged up and ran well in metro grade last time out, she has the versatility to come into play here. CIGANDA (3) has the speed to ping out and lead early but at the middle distance I think they’ll be more on the conservative side. JACKIE DANIELS (1) drawn to get a good run, on the quick backup from a sound effort on Friday. THE SWINDLER (8) will get a soft run and should be doing her best work late but might be one spot too far back. Tips: 5 6 3 8 Suggested Bet: EKARA NAVAJO (5) to win. Race 4 DEE JAYS BIG BOY (1) has the early speed and form at this distance to be dangerous here as there looks to be plenty happening outside of him, might take the cover and get the last look at them late. DAMAGE DONE (2) has good early speed and has shown glimpses of his better form recently, likely holds if he does lead. COLORADO BANNER (3) would go close if he could cross but staggered start could come into play here. HARRYS A ROCKSTAR (6) can’t get too involved early but will be running on. BE HOME SOON (7) faces a tough draw, could end up 3 deep the trip in this, capable with the right run. TASHS SPARTAN (9) is capable but needs to settle close enough and BALTIC ACE (4) and MONTERIO (5) face tricky maps. Tips: 1 2 6 3 Suggested Bet: DEE JAYS BIG BOY (1) each way. Race 5 Open race. JOEY JAMES (4) was big when placed two starts ago, has good speed and might try and cross at the shorter distance and run a good race. SIR ALEC WHITBY (2) drawn to use his early speed and be handy to them, still developing depth but is on the improve every time he steps out there. BEATITLIKEBECA (11) was a decent return, talented and is fitter, capable of overcoming the draw. MAJOR DISCO (12) is returning and loves to be in the money but faces a challenging draw on return. BASINGHALL (1) early speed is a concern but can run into the money if he settles close enough. MACHANE SAID (9) and MISTER KOPA (10) will be running on. Tips: 4 11 2 12 Suggested Bet: JOEY JAMES (4) to win. Race 6 MAJOR DALTON (4) will come charging out and looking for the top, had every chance when racing at the middle distance at Gloucester Park two starts ago but the lightning lap could come into play here and give him a good chance. IDONTWANABEAPIRATE (7) is a major player in this, was a winner sitting three wide the trip a few starts ago and this grade suits, should go well. CHIEF COPY (5) has shown enough promise to be highly respected in this grade. CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (6) first up for the new stable, decent on speed type and should be kept safe. BEALAWYER (3) will not be far away, respect in this, slightly better last run. GLOBAL HERITAGE (9) ready to win but follows out a slow beginner which is detrimental to his chances at the short trip. THE ULTIMATE BEACH (10) will be running on. Tips: 4 7 5 3 Suggested Bet: MAJOR DALTON (4) each way. Race 7 BROUGHT TO LIGHT (5) is richly talented but comes in fresh and might need a run to get back to his sharpness but must be respected in this. HUNGER STRIKE (10) has good closing speed and could fly under the radar a touch in this race. SAMMY SUFFARELL (2) is a bold front running type and should use his speed to lead here and can get a little bit fiery but looks a solid chance to be very cheeky in this deep race. BEAT THE BANK (1) was a nice effort on Friday and is ideally drawn to follow the speed and get a look at them late. The Egerton-Green pair have good ability with OVERLY EXCITED (8) nicely drawn but has a few tricks and FULL SWING DENARIO (6) having the versatility to still be threatening from the draw. IDEAL MUSCLE (7) and GOODTIME LOUIS (9) both worthy of respect. Good race. Tips: 5 10 2 1 Suggested Bet: HUNGER STRIKE (10) each way. Race 8 Battle at the start here. JILL MACH (5) returns to her beloved standing starts and Trent Wheeler jumps back aboard, normally steps quickly and at the short course stand, if she can lead, she will run a bold race. TOMMY PRICE (1) has been stepping soundly and can settle close and at the distance will give him a good chance. THOMSON BAY (11) hit the line well on Friday night and has a big win in good time at this track and distance, expect him to improve again. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (10) has been wonderfully consistent and is on the quick backup, expecting him to run home well again. CALL TO ARMS (8) is a novelty chance and SWIZZLESTICK (9) can be included in exotics as I think his form is better than it reads. Tips: 5 11 1 10 Suggested Bet: JILL MACH (5) each way. Race 9 Open race. SWITCH BLADE (1) has the draw to lead from the good barrier, he has been doing the work and battling on well in similar grade from challenging draws. AKOYA PEARL (11) is a horse with plenty of talent, returns from a tricky draw but expecting her to acquit herself well here. FROM TIGERLAND (7) will be further improved off a first up win, he has plenty of talent but didn’t look as sharp in victory, tougher draw and deeper race. HALFMOONBAY (2) was quite green last time out and at this stage prefer him at shorter trips. ERA (3) not the worst, has just had some challenging maps and this looks no easier but think he’s going better than his form reads. HUNT THE MAGIC (8) drawn to get a soft run. Tips: 1 11 7 8 Suggested Bet: SWITCH BLADE (1) each way. Market Market
