Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 15, 2025April 15, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Open race here. SWITCH BLADE (5) has been racing against equal to if not stronger opposition and looks a strong chance in this, should be driven forward and can win this. CRETACEOUS (6) has come back soundly and should run well on an each way basis. FLYING FELIX (9) looks to have ability but the draw makes the race more challenging. ZIGGY VERMEER (1) is a novelty hope with a safe getaway. JILLIBY MOJITO (7) is heading in the right direction but like others in the race, has a tricky map to work with. Tips: 5 6 9 7 Suggested Bet: SWITCH BLADE (5) each way. Race 2 FABULOUS DREAM (8) is undefeated and looks to be a very smart horse, appears quite hard to beat here and looks to have plenty of early speed, which is what swayed me in her corner over ELITE FLEET (7) who looks very talented but just a little concern early with the gate speed, will run a big race. MAJOR DISCO (9) returns and has depth, expecting a strong campaign from him. BY ROYAL COMMAND (6) is a novelty chance and looks to keep improving. BOOM IT UP (1) is a novelty chance at odds. I LIKE MY SWEETS (10) showed enough promise in trials, forgive the first up run and can run into the novelties. Tips: 8 7 9 6 Suggested Bet: FABULOUS DREAM (8) to win. Race 3 FRANKIE J HOLDEN (5) is in brilliant form and can be driven like a machine again and expecting him to keep responding, quite a solid chance he works to the top and from there will be hard to get past. FRANCO SHERIFF (8) did what he had to do on WA debut, this looks harder with class and draw but has ability and can elevate. VALHALLA MISS (2) has the speed to lead early and then has options from the draw, novelty chance. GEE SMITH (3) will be fitter and likely improver with BET ON THE RIVER (4) was solid last time out and with the draw, won’t be that far away. RAJAH ROCKS (7) can mix his form and has a tricky draw. MEDIEVAL MAN (12) was better last run and can be put into it at some stage. Tips: 5 8 2 7 Suggested Bet: FRANKIE J HOLDEN (5) to win. Race 4 LONGREACH BAY (8) is in career best form, he has the speed to burn across and looks the potential lead, simple task for him, if he leads, I think he will win the race. SOHO MOONRAKER (5) was outstanding in a recent trial and looks the main danger, if he led, he would most likely win but he is coming in fresh. LORD TITANIUM (4) is racing in top form and could fly under the radar, will be dangerous late. COMO EL VIENTO (1) hasn’t come back to his best yet, expecting a better run from the draw. ROCK ME OVER (7) will be running on but may be one spot to far back. SISTA SAMMY (9) novelty chance but finds it harder making ground out wider. Tips: 8 5 4 1 Suggested Bet: LONGREACH BAY (8) to win. Race 5 BLAZING REACTOR (4) v MIKIS BEACH (5) looks to be a mouthwatering clash on paper and both horses have Friday night light’s ability. BLAZING RACTOR (4) will head forward and looks likely to head to the top and will be the hardest to run down. MIKIS BEACH (5) will look to use his speed to overcome the draw, both horses have unbelievable high speed. MISTER PICCOLO (2) draws nicely and will be close enough and when the speed goes on, his positioning might work out better and become a strong place chance. CHACO EAGLE (1) not at his best, but the draw elevates him to a place chance. FLY TO THE FINISH (3) going well but a bit tricky from the barrier. Tips: 4 5 2 1 Suggested Bet: BLAZING REACTOR (4) to win. Race 6 BEE BEE BEROC (3) can step well and looks the likely leader, this grade suits well and will run a bold race. THE WHIZ KID (7) is on debut and looks to have ability from the trials, just needs to do everything right to be a major player. TENNERSON (6) comes in fresh, likely to need the run but was competitive against some nice trotters last time we saw him race. GRAND MAJESTIC BELLS (10) is talented but hasn’t been trotting well so that needs to change to see her win. ELISH STAR (4) is a novelty chance. Tips: 3 7 6 10 Suggested Bet: BEE BEE BEROC (3) to win.
