Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 18, 2025February 19, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 QUINTESSA (4) was ultra impressive in her debut start; this looks at her mercy on that first up run and she should get the job done again. MISS UNEEK (1) was placed after a freshen up, she has the perfect draw to fill the placings and looks a lock to run second or third. CRUNCHEE (11) was impressive on return, she absorbed pressure from start to finish and was only narrowly beaten, things are a bit more challenging tonight from the back row draw. FOLLOW YOUR MOTHER (10) is much better suited on the pegs line and looks a chance to run into fourth. Tips: 4 1 11 10 Suggested Bet: First 4 ; 4/1/11/10 or 4/1,11/1,11/10 Race 2 MATERNAL DREAMS (2) hit the line strongly without much luck in the Western Crown final and looks to have options from the draw, appears to be improving and looks a solid chance on an each way quote. SOUTHERNER (1) nearly led throughout in the same race and looks hard to run down again from the same draw. BUTTER ME UP (9) was held up in that 2yo feature but has no favours from the draw tonight. IDEAL BEACH (6) looks to have ability but is still being ironed out. NITE SNIPER (7) has a tricky draw to overcome, and BETTOR BEHAVE (8) also drawn wide but has upside after a solid trial at Byford. Tips: 2 1 9 8 Suggested Bet: MATERNAL DREAMS (2) each way. Race 3 CEASE TO REACT (9) has been impressive in both his wins to date, he looks to have the necessary depth required to overcome the barrier draw and he just finds a way to lift and win, hard to hold out again. DELTARIFFIC (4) has shown impressive qualities in trials but has also got a few tricks, if he does everything right, he will run a bold race. WHEELSOFORTUNE (3) will improve off his first up run and looks to have promise and upside. FEAR THE STORM (8) trialled up well and should be kept safe. TEXAS STORM (2) and WAKE UP GEOFF (10) both look to have ability, and their draws should see them settle close enough. Tips: 9 3 4 8 Suggested Bet: CEASE TO REACT (9) to win. Race 4 ARIONROCK (11) has a decent draw to follow what could be a decent lead time in the early stages, he was a bold effort when third last time out and can run a big race here. ILLAWONG MUSTANG (9) is nearly in career best form, he will have to do his fair share of work but can win again, just seems a bit short. MARBEECHSAM (2) can continue to improve and do the work early and is a bold front running type. MAJOR OVERS (3) also has good early speed and would be a chance if he could lead. UNDER THE ALTA (5) normally likes to hold a forward position which will make things harder for JASPERVELLABEACH (6) who is continuing to drop in grade, but the draw appears awkward tonight. FEELING ACES (10) hit the line well last start and with even luck could bolster up the novelties. Tips: 11 9 2 10 Suggested Bet: ARIONROCK (11) each way. Race 5 LIVY ANN (1) has been runner up both race start and impressive in both of those runs. She has good natural speed and looks likely to lead and get the job done. MA PETITE DAME (4) appears to have her fair share of ability, she will run a bold race on debut. WISHING BELLE (2) and EL RAES GIRL (3) will both run well as they will be close to the speed and have shown promise in recent trials. Tips: 1 4 2 3 Suggested Bet: LIVY ANN/MA PETITE DAME to Exacta. Race 6 LITTLE CHINA GIRL (1) was disappointing last time out but expecting her to bounce back, if she goes anywhere like she did on debut, she will win. CHEFS KISS (3) trialled well at Pinjarra and showed positive qualities, looks a solid chance to run into the money. PERFECT MIKI (5) looks an improving type and should run well on debut on what she has shown in trials. LADY CRUNCH TIME (4) appears next best with HIGHVIEW ROZI (7) Tips: 1 3 5 4 Suggested Bet: LITTLE CHINA GIRL/CHEFS KISS to Exacta. Race 7 ALTA ALLURE (10) drops in grade on her most recent run behind some of the best Mares in the state, she will require a touch of luck, but I am expecting her to run a big race here. BLAZE COOPS (1) was a winner on Friday night and narrowly beat some of her main rivals recently and they have had some good battles in previous runs. She will lead and run a bold race. FREYJA (5) was pushed at a vital point on Friday and was narrowly beaten, can see her doing the work and running a big race here. CHAMPAGNE EVERYONE (4) will get a lovely run and be swooping home late. Gets harder for some of the others who will have less favourable runs throughout. Tips: 10 5 1 4 Suggested Bet: ALTA ALLURE (10) to win. Market Market
