Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 24, 2024June 24, 2024 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 LAKE PICHOLA (9) has been quite impressive at the trials and comes to a race today drawn well in gate number 9. Should get a good run through and looks to have gears, hard to beat on debut. IM MASSIMO (1) comes up with the good draw and from the powerhouse Justin Prentice stable you can understand why he will be fancied, trials have been solid and should run well on debut. SEBASTIAN JAMES (7) looks to have good ability but has drawn poorly in start one. MAJOR DISCO (8) has shown promise in trials and draws nicely on debut for Aiden De Campo. Plenty of interest in some of the others but we cant name them all. Tips: 9 1 8 7 Suggested Bet: LAKE PICHOLA (9) to win. Race 2 Handicaps have made this an intriguing race. MAJESTIC MARION (3) should be fitter for the first up effort and showed continual improvement last prep. With a safe getaway could run to the top here and give them something to chase. HOLD THAT GOLD (7) returns and has shown enough last time in to suggest a strong performance. GRAND MAJESTIC BELLS (8) also returns and has an abundance of ability but really tapered off late last campaign, keep safe on return. DREAMBIGAIMHIGH (5) is a place chance. SELLUNE (6) is never far away and could fly under the radar here. ELEGANT PEAK (11) returns off a challenging handicap and NICKYS SON (12) has the talent but 60m is never easy. Tips: 3 6 7 8 Suggested Bet: SELLUNE (6) each way. Race 3 OUR MAESTOSO (9) won the Trotters sprint and Cup earlier on this year, he has been a big improver nearly every time he has stepped out onto the track and looks hard to beat again here. EVAS IMAGE (3) has the draw advantage and should run well but not 100% convinced she’s back to her best. THAT’S NOT MY GAIT (7) has been performing well and has proven she is right up to these. ABUNDANCE (1) has the perfect draw with early speed to suggest she will run into the novelties. CHUMANI (2) not a big fan of the mobile as a rule and ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN (4) can improve off the back of a couple disappointing runs. Tips: 9 3 7 1 Suggested Bet: OUR MAESTOSO (9) to win. Race 4 ARTFUL MIKI (4) was brilliant in a debut victory at Bunbury and then followed it up with a disappointing unplaced performance, the horse had excuses second up after a false start upset a few runners in the race. He looks well placed here to return back to his best form and get the victory. CANDY APPLE (1) did things wrong at trials but made up a lot of ground and performed well, decent place chance with a safe getaway. BANK NOTICE (3) can run into the money in this race, his form has been fair. WHITBYS WORLD (8) has drawn nicely and ran home well off a similar run two starts ago, should be hitting the line strongly. SPINNER OF YARNS (5) and MISTER KOPA (6) both longer prices to consider for your first 4’s. Tips: 4 8 3 1 Suggested Bet: WHITBYS WORLD (8) to place. Race 5 Open maiden event. SUGAR BOO (1) has proven capable of featuring in this grade and has early speed, options from the draw and shouldn’t be too far away. THERE AND THEN (5) was disappointing on Saturday night but has got early speed. EBEE AVIATOR (6) has been quite unlucky, she is going well enough to break through in this. MARLEDIE (9) will be running home okay but expected more from her last start in slow time. BATAVIA JANE (10) has been improving and shouldn’t be too far away. MIDWIFE CALLING (11) has a challenging draw to overcome but has definitely improved this time in. Going wide in the quaddie. Tips: 6 1 9 10 Suggested Bet: EBEE AVIATOR (6) each way. Race 6 INSTA GATOR (9) looks perfectly placed in this, he has a back line draw to watch things unfold before making his move. He is a good staying type and think he can win this. OUR LOVE AFFAIR (1) has ability but first up for nearly 2 years has me thinking she is more of a place chance. TRUNKEY CARRAWA (2) trialled up nicely and was nearing a win before his freshen up. YANKIE KEV (4) was solid last time out and that was in a race where he beat INSTA GATOR (9) home in, keep safe. UNDER THE STARZZZ (6) faces a tricky battle from the draw. IM DRINKINDOUBLES (8) will get a soft run and is a must for novelties. Tips: 9 2 4 8 Suggested Bet: INSTA GATOR (9) to win. Race 7 SEA FURY (7) comes across from NZ and looking at the replays, he has good early speed, can see him charging across and looking for the top and looks an ideal race for him to tackle on WA debut. MAJOR CLASS (11) hasn’t been seen since he decimated a maiden field back in May. HY JAX (9) is an improving type who has the ability but is still mastering his ring craft. VISITING HOURS (2) has been an improver and looks to follow speed well, won’t be too far away. RESOLUTION (6) can run into the money along with STRAYLYA (8) who is drawn to get a soft run. Tips: 7 2 11 9 Suggested Bet: VISITING HOURS (2) to place. Race 8 TANTABIDDI (1) looks the leader and will be fitter for the first up performance, looks to be the one to gun down and hold most of the market percentage. BRULEE (5) has been racing against stronger fields and looks to be getting back to her best. REG LAWSON (2) is racing consistently and won’t be far away here. LORD TITANIUM (4) is always a novelty hope. LOMBO MITCHINSON (6) will be running on well at odds. COLD HARD CASH (9) just needs a genuine tempo and can capitalize late. Tips: 5 1 9 6 Suggested Bet: BRULEE (5) each way. Race 9 LINEBACKER (1) has the perfect draw and provided he does everything right he should be close to leading and going the journey. CHIVALRY (3) was really strong on return and should be fitter for that, showed good pace last start and if he found the top he becomes the one to beat. CROWD CONTROL (8) will be hoping that the pole marker can hold up, his winning chances are likely to hinge on that, his first up run was good and looks to be a major player here. CUT N RUN (4) drawn to the disadvantage of many of the main chances but is racing well. DOURADO (9) has the draw to race in his favourite role, the sniper. Tips: 8 3 1 9 Suggested Bet: CROWD CONTROL (8) to win. Race 10 DREAM CONTROL (1) has been racing well and finally comes up with the good draw, she has options from the draw but is a good front running type at the short course and expect her to run well. UNLUCKY (2) drops in grade and is fitter for the first up performance, expecting her to improve here. PUREST COPPER (8) will be desperate to hold leaders back to maximise her winning potential, she is going well. BETTOR HAVE FAITH (9) should get a good run through and look dangerous late in running. JACKIE DANIELS (4), DOCTOR CATHERINE (5), ALLAGLOW (6) and ARTISTIC SCRIBE (7) are all performing well enough to play a part just their respective draws aren’t working with the map. OUR LILILOU (10) is a place chance, was good last run. DAME VALOUR (11) was really good first up and any sign of speed will bring her right into this. Tips: 1 11 9 8 Suggested Bet: DREAM CONTROL (1) to win. Race 11 PERFECT MOVE (2) is a funny horse to follow, he can look rather crazy in some of his races but when he puts it all together it’s hard to believe he is still a maiden, expecting him to run really well after a solid 5th in stronger company last time out. ALTAR (7) is racing with improvement in his last couple, the draw is not great but expecting him to hit the line well. THE ULTIMATE BEACH (1) has the good draw but the trials have just been okay, I think he’s more of a place hope on debut. VINNIES STAR (10) creates interest first up for Four Diamonds Pacing, big horse who should have benefitted from his first race preparation. IDONTWANNABEAPIRATE (11) hit the line well last start and can see him doing it again. HOLD YOUR FIRE (6) improving and has shown speed. Tips: 2 10 11 7 Suggested Bet: PERFECT MOVE (2) to win.
