Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 13, 2024May 13, 2024 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 SELLUNE (2) has been crying out to break through and finds a very suitable race here today for trainer/driver Nigel Johns. He doesn’t have to lead to win, looks to have a decisive edge over his rivals today. BEEFOUR BACARD (5) could be the potential leader in this race, they have been driving him conservatively but in this small field they might wind back the clock, he is going well enough to be cheeky. TENNERSON (3) was better last effort and back to a mobile gives him place claims. Tips: 2 3 5 1 Suggested Bet: SELLUNE (2) to win. Race 2 MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (1) has shown talent and most importantly gate speed for the Dewar stable. He had an early crack before sprinting up again and battling on well last start, with the draw advantage today I am expecting him to go very close. COMO EL VIENTO (4) made every post a winner last start but today looks a bit trickier from barrier 4. WRITE RITE RIGHT (2) trialled up well for this assignment, keep safe. INTO THE FUTURE (6) has ability but tricky draw to overcome. Good little race. Tips: 1 2 4 6 Suggested Bet: MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (1) to win. Race 3 IDEAL INTEREST (1) has shown good improvement this preparation and am happy to overlook his last start blemish now that he has come up with the ace. BUNJIL MAN (4) looks to have ability, the gelding is a bit on the green side in terms of ring craft but likely to further improve off his first race run. WORLD OF ROCK (2) has trialled only fairly but with a strong stable so must be kept in thoughts. MARLEDIE (9) trialled up ok and can improve on race day. Tips: 1 4 2 9 Suggested Bet: BUNJIL MAN (4) each way. Race 4 ITSOKTOBEGREY (5) caught the eye last start when he hit the line strongly in a solid last quarter, he will have to overcome a tricky draw but looms as one of the major players. SONIC SEELSTER (6) is finding it hard to break through, he has been sound in his performances since returning and a win here wouldn’t surprise. SWITCH BLADE (9) performed well last time out and will not be far away. LUNETTA (1) has had her chances, she is a place chance with PERFECT MOVE (2) an improver along with MONEY TIME MADNESS (4) Tips: 5 9 6 2 Suggested Bet: SWITCH BLADE (9) each way. Race 5 MIKI SPRING STEP (7) has come on nicely from trials into his races, he has the staying capabilities to overcome the outside draw and am expecting him to be driven positively here. WHITBYS WORLD (6) was a beaten short priced favourite at Bunbury on Friday just gone, there was not a lot of redeeming qualities to get excited about here from a tricky draw. MAJOR CLASS (10) is first up for nearly 2 years and trialled up softly for his return, keep safe. KINSAABI (9) flashed home in a quick last section last start, he is a knockout chance. Tips: 7 10 9 6 Suggested Bet: MIKI SPRING STEP (7) to win. Race 6 ONLY ME AND LOU (5) has continued to improve strongly throughout his first racing preparation, he is a versatile type and has an element of class, I think he will be driven aggressively here and can get another win. THE STATE OF ART (7) is fitter after a soft first up win, he looks to have talent and looks the main danger. ROCKNROLL TRAIN (1) hasn’t been able to improve like expected after a promising 2yo season, he holds the key to the race here. SCUTTLEBUTT (2) rises in grade but is a place chance along with ITS JUSTA SHOTAWAY (3) and the returning RESOLUTION (4) Tips: 5 7 3 1 Suggested Bet: ONLY ME AND LOU (5) to win. Race 7 BLAZE ON (1) is ideally drawn here and has come back to racing well, he has good early speed and after a narrow victory last time out I feel he is better suited here and will go very close. MISTER RIDGEWELL (8) returns and off the back of a decent hit out in trials, connections and punters couldn’t ask for a better draw for him, he is a big threat. MAJOR FREEWAY (3) has come back well and can do work in his races. CALLMEWHATUWANT (4) capable of further improvement but looks tricky. SOHO FIRESTONE (9) fitter and drawn to get a soft run, place. LADY PRIMA DONNA (5) and ANOTHERBIGMAN (7) both capable types from poor draws. Good race. Tips: 1 8 9 3 Suggested Bet: MISTER RIDGEWELL (8) each way. Race 8 MADAM PUBLISHER (8) handled her opposition with arrogance on return and looking at this race basically suggests you might get slightly better odds from a tricky gate. In all honesty with normal racing luck she should get the job done. SEAGRASS (2) trialled up just ok for her return run, she has good ability and looks the potential leader and could run a big race. SASSY DANCER (1) creates interest in her first up run here in WA for Ashleigh Markham. SPIRITOFANANGEL (6) is never far away and a must for novelty players. WATCH ME WAVE (10) expecting her to be closing off well. Tips: 8 2 10 6 Suggested Bet: MADAM PUBLISHER (8) to win. Race 9 HI SUGA RUSH (1) looks to be a progressive type and has a multitude of ways he can go on his winning way here, keen on him getting the job done. IM LORD LOGAN (3) is a speedy beginner and becomes a strong chance if he can get across. VANDERBILT (7) is another progressive type who might have to do the bullocking work but has proven himself capable of handling that, keep safe. DOURADO (10) will be closing off well, his best hope is for a quicker lead time. CODENAME MARCUS (5) rises in grade. CASTELLA DELLACQUA (6) returned with a soft win, this is harder from the draw. SWAGGER MAN (4) is a hard to horse to follow, he mixes his form. Cracking race. Tips: 1 7 10 3 Suggested Bet: HI SUGA RUSH (1) to win. Market Market
