AUGMENT

Wednesday, March 22 @ Belmont

How could you not be impressed with the debut run of this filly? An imposing daughter of Exceed And Excel, she blitzed her opposition to well and truly throw her hat into the Karrakatta Plate ring. Off that display, it would be a shock if she didn’t run well again in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes on Saturday.

RUSTY DREAMS

Thursday, March 23 @ Pinjarra

A very nice filly with serious upside. Had trialled up well in the lead-up to her first-up win down at Pinjarra, showing great tactical speed and plenty of pluck to see of the challengers. It was her second victory from as many starts and underlined once again that she is worth sticking with.

MILLIVOY

Friday, March 24 @ Mount Barker

If you’re able to put aside the disappointment of Millivoy’s defeat as a $2.15 favourite, we can all acknowledge there are some wins around the corner. His runner-up placing behind Bonnie Lad under 60kg was his first start since December 2021. He’s no star, but does possess ability and placed correctly, will be winning very soon.

ALL IN RED

Saturday, March 25 @ Ascot

This mare has turned in two excellent runs back-to-back, the most recent being last weekend. She dropped in grade after a third in 60+ company and was able to run into fifth from back in the field, a task that wasn’t easy on the day. In doing so, she finished in front of Cywer, Sessions Peak, Awesome Rival, Wunderkind and American Troop.

WESTERN KNIGHT

Saturday, March 25 @ Ascot

Was beaten on the weekend, but lost no admirers. Stepped out second-up at 1200m after kicking off campaign over 1400m, but was denied the genuine tempo it looked like he would be afforded. Despite the inconvenience, rattled off some impressive numbers to finish second against some handy types.

CREATOR

Saturday, March 25 @ Ascot

Much like Western Knight earlier in the afternoon, Creator ad his chances scuppered by a slowly run race in the Listed Grandstand Cup. He is going really well, but his racing pattern and the tempo of his past two runs have made it nigh on impossible to salute.

FAT ROY SLIM

Sunday, March 26 @ Pinjarra

We are not suggesting Fat Roy Slim is going to be a multiple Saturday winner, but given his effort when running second over 1700m second-up on the weekend, surely win No.2 in his career isn’t far away. The four-year-old didn’t see any cover, yet refused to quit and was second to the favourite Buckeye Bullet, who enjoyed a cosy run throughout after being runner-up the start prior to subsequent Saturday winner Rusty Spirit.
