Harry Buchanan’s Monday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 31, 2023July 31, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch NORTHAM Race 2 No. 2 Victim Of Desire Gets a box now and super chance in this. Steps well and has just had traffic issues from middle draws lately. Can go with or cross the red here and she keeps coming to the line. Great EW show here. Race 3 No. 2 Royal Fun and No. 4 Dawn Of Time The 2 drops back from the 500 but shows good dash. Has lost the turn twice now over that trip so that’s some concern but has shown no problems over this distance with her two wins. Can lead and win. The Queen of Northam, May Leach, will have the 4 ready to run a race here. Doesn’t win many but this isn’t as hard as some of her latest assignments and she can surprise here. Race 5 No. 6 Entry Level Ultra consistent around here and again poised to strike in this. Had the race at his mercy last week when he has somehow fallen over his own feet turning for home trying to go under the leader. Will again descend late and should hit the frame here with any luck at all. Race 6 No. 3 Quid Brother and No. 5 Burner Flash Don’t be surprised to see the 3 show some dash here at his first short course go. Regular pace setter over the 509m trip and racing far tougher opposition over that distance. He could go all the way if he gets the arm here. The 5 will run his usual honest race again. Just needs to miss the 6 early and he will sustain a strong run home. Yet to miss a pace here from 4 goes. Race 7 No. 5 Joe The Lion Will look to get up there early in this which is his best chance. Been racing good class at Cannington but that’s over the 380m trip and while he has won over 520m, he needs to lead to do it. Start decides his race here then the first turn. Top two chance of it goes to plan. Race 8 No. 6 Something Fun Will again go around at doubles and will again give another great sight. Ran out of her skin two starts back behind Tangled Web and a repeat of that alone will see her prominent throughout. Has pace and is sticking on stronger more and more over this trip. Don’t ignore her. Race 9 No. 1 Finloch Fernando and No. 3 Rona’s Rocket The 1 gets the draw of the century here with the 2 dog one of the worst dogs under pressure racing. While it can go ok if it leads solo and untouched, it lacks serious commitment around dogs and will duck off if anything remotely leans on her. That will give the red a saloon passage here and his form at the track as well as his unbeaten record off the box means he’s hard to stop here. The 3 has been missing the start and that will be a blessing in disguise here if she does again. Rails hard and will get a nice run at the first turn as long as she’s not outside the 2. Race 10 No. 8 Sassy Blade The Dale Cup final. She may not be the fastest. She may not be the best dog and she may not have run time in her heat win, but what you get here is $101 about a dog who can shock the life out of better performed dogs and not think twice about it. Came from a mile back last week when descending over the top at huge odds. She is boxed exactly where she wants to be. She has taken to Northam better than most think and if there is ANY first turn trouble, and they let her through, she will just keep coming. Place heavy play but the Sass will give a great sight if she can get into this up the back. There are much worse $101 shots in greyhound racing. EW, give her strength and any rain is a huge plus. Race 11 No. 8 Refer To Trader and No. 7 Luna Sunrise The 8 was disappointing last week. Had the inside and tried getting over heels first turn which cost her the race. Better boxed now and will storm into this with clear running. Don’t be surprised if the 7 swishes over and leads here. She’s hard to catch too when she does so she is worth a small spec at the odds and she can find that arm early. The 8 looks very well placed however. Race 12 No. 8 Comet Bay Katie and No. 7 Kingsbrae Huxley The 8 gets another go here. Stepped well last time but was pinballed around in the run to the first turn and put out of play. She can spear out here and get a clean run out wide and if she leads, she wins. Save EW on our old mate in 7 who continues to race well here. This is easier than his last run and he can muster up and keep coming late. Place heavy for him. Market Market
