CANNINGTON

Race 5 No. 7 West On Missile and No. 8 Roll With It

A couple here and it’s the box draw that sways us this way. The 7, while wanting the inside himself, will get a stack of room to move to the first turn. Has gone fast time in his qualifier and can cross here if he steps cleanly. The 8 will be the biggest recipient of the fence-crashers inside him. Several of these from boxes 3-7 all want the fence badly after box rise. The 8 is wide runner with speed and he can waltz to the first turn here and give a sight out wide. Both can get over here with clean getaways.

Race 8 No. 5 Your Mate and No. 4 West On Fizz

The 5 has been racing much tougher races than this and he only has to offset the draw here. Can stick on well in his races and will be there late with any luck. The 4 was desperately unlucky not to lead last start here. All but had the arm by the first turn when she was pole axed and put out of business. Can atone and look for her to get the fence early and be hard to beat.

Race 9 No. 1 Paul Keeping and No. 7 Little Miss Ava

The 1 has his box. Former SA dog who went well first up here and has some strength about his middle and last sections. Only has to hold a position early. The 7 is racing well and she is so consistent. Can handle all draws, racing well and ready to win again. Out of her skin last start behind Manzu who would be $1.20 in this.

WENTWORTH PARK

Race 5 No. 2 Four Five

Really gets his chance here and no excuses this time. Small field, inside draw with no red runner, he gets every possible hope. Big middle and last section and easiest company he’s faced in some time. Looks the one.

Race 7 No. 6 Chase Me Honey

Her good box manners will see her swish over here and look for the top. Has been racing the better sprinters lately in a variety of features and this is her chance. Has strength as well with wins up to 618m. Top 2 player here.

BALLARAT

Race 6 No. 8 Rothwell Elzinga

Promising staying type and who gave an impossible start last week in the heat. Can take a little time to wind up but handles the wide boxes well and could get into this earlier while staying out wide and out of trouble. EW place heavy.

Race 7 No. 4 Ephemeral and No. 8 Aston Profit

The 4 is very good when given room to operate. Possibly better over longer but goes very quickly and if he finds the top it’s over at great odds. The 8 will burn down the outside early and look to cross. Super record here track and trip and 21 time winner. Has a quick turn of foot and will look ominous.

Race 8 No. 3 Peaky Blazer and No. 6 Sally Intention

The 3 has any amount of talent but just as much as talent at finding trouble. Lacks early speed, is clumsy and needs room to operate, but when he gets it, can reel off huge sections. The step up to 545m is a massive plus. Will win if he handles the corner start and gets half a look into the back. The 6 is monster odds here but hot hopeless. She is a stayer of some promise and while this trip might be short of her best, she will get past anything that tiring, and that will be a few of these. Small EW spec on her.

Race 9 No. 6 Belle Violin

This surely looks his race. With only 4 opponents, he will get every chance here to cut loose with that big middle and last run home and be too hard to stop. Absolutely no excuses here. None.

Race 11 No. 3 Daph’s Yak

Steps only fairly but then he musters very quickly. Box will help him track this red up and if he can eyeball it turning for home, his strength should get it done from there. Loves it here and is a big EW go. Shouldn’t miss the podium.
