Greg’s Belmont Preview Posted on May 31, 2017May 31, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper RACE 1 This is a maiden with some depth. PAK A PRO ran well on debut and then was tipped out for a lengthy spell. She’s trialled well for her return and has drawn to lead or box seat. MISS SWINDLE hails from a strong stable and has looked sharp in her trial efforts. IMPERIAL VENUS is another debutante who has shown ability at the trials. DIXIE WIN next best. Numbers – 9 – 10 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – PAK A PRO WIN RACE 2 The well-bred STATE ATTORNEY makes his race track debut off the back of two impressive trial wins. He should be too classy for these. BRONZE IDOL parked wide throughout on debut and battled on well. NEUROLOGICAL should appreciate the 1200m. MONASH was very poor on debut. He’s trialled since and the blinkers come off. Numbers – 7 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – STATE ATTORNEY WIN RACE 3 HARRY THOMAS has been knocking on the door. He’s drawn a gate to lead and be hard to run down. SEBRING SPY has changed stables since his last run. Pike/Warwick combination can always be deadly. HERRON POINT ran out of condition first-up. The drop back to 1200m should be a positive. EYES WIDE OPEN trialled well and will attack the line. Numbers – 4 – 7 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – HARRY THOMAS AND SEBRING SPY RACE 4 FORBIDDEN PLANET got caught in the wrong spot last start. Prior to that he was able to lead all the way at Northam. He should settle right on the speed and give a big sight. BELLS TOWER won well last start. He can lead or tag the speed again. GOLD SHIMMER is very capable of pulling out a big fresh run. YEAH DARDY was scratched from a winnable race on Saturday to be saved for this. Numbers – 3 – 2 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – FORBIDDEN PLANET AND BELLS TOWER Race 5 THUNDERBOOM showed plenty of ability in his first campaign and has been given a very soft trial for his return. Pike goes on and expecting him to be very hard to beat fresh. BLACKBEEL won well on debut. He can improve again. MR UNDERCOVER really tested Rising Sea a fortnight back. If he gets some luck from an ugly draw he goes close. ROGAN SCENT has trialled well. Suggested – 8 – 2 – 7 – 12 Suggested Bet – THUNDERBOOM WIN RACE 6 The blinkers go on JACKPOT PRINCE which looks a significant gear change. From a better draw expecting him to settle closer to the speed and be hard to hold out. MY FAIR BEAUTY is consistent and will look the winner somewhere in the straight. SHADOW BOXER is a horse on the rise. EIGHT DOUBLE EIGHT comes from the best form reference. Numbers – 4 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – JACKPOT PRINCE WIN RACE 7 RAGNAR’S SAGA missed the kick and was never a hope first-up. He drops in class, goes up in distance and should appreciate room to move from a wide draw. THE DIRECTOR had no luck last. He looks close to a win. HINCHINBEEL is suited with the return to Belmont. O’REILLY’S CRUMPET is capable of pulling out a fresh run. Numbers – 5 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SuperPick - Ragnar's Saga - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) QUADDIE RACE 4 – 2, 3, 5, 9, 10 RACE 5 – 2, 7, 8, 12 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 4, 5 RACE 7 – 4, 5 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now!” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2017-05-31/pr” linkrel=””]
