Greg Hooper’s Belmont Tips Posted on July 20, 2016July 21, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hoopers Tips RACE 1 SOMETHING BIG has looked sharp in his trials. He should get a lovely run from gate 1 and get every chance to win on debut. NIGHTWATCHMAN was well supported on debut and just missed. Pike retains the mount. RICH RED can lead again and be hard to run down. BURNING MAGIC will appreciate the drop in class. Numbers – 8 – 2 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – Something Big and Nightwatchman RACE 2 BERGIO looks very placed to make it consecutive wins. He attacked first-up behind Astronomite and then broke his maiden with a strong win at this distance. From gate 2 he gets the run of the race. INDEFATIGABLE won well with the blinkers going on. He should finding the line strongly again. KLONDIKE KENNY improves with the rise in trip and drop in class. MUSGAVE has ability and Pike rides. Numbers – 1 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – Bergio win RACE 3 ANOTHER MAORI BOY has run well at both starts this campaign and the rise to 1200m should suit. Clint Johnston-Porter should give him every chance from a good draw. OUTSTRETCH resumes from a spell and Pike rides. His only start he found the line strongly over 1000m. KING COLE and SIRIUS PROSPECT both have claims. Numbers – 1 – 6 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – Another Maori Boy each-way RACE 4 The change in distance has really changed the complexion of this race with some notable scratchings already. FEINT DANCER is a handy sprinter who resumes. He won fresh last campaign and should appreciate the genuine tempo. TWO SILVER TREES has been given a freshen-up since a disappointing effort. She can improve sharply. DAD SAID is one who will appreciate the extra distance. AEROZINE is quick and will be in front for a long way. Numbers – 6 – 10 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – Feint Dancer win RACE 5 EYES WIDE OPEN should improve sharply on her first-up run. The rise to 1400m will suit and this does look a softer race depth wise. LOVE TRADE led and was nailed late at her most recent start. She can give a big sight again. SPECIAL JEWEL broke through for a good win at Pinjarra and can go on with the job. TOMMI TOOCAN ran well first-up. Numbers – 5 -6 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – Eyes Wide Open and Love Trade RACE 6 MAIN INSTIGATOR should be ready to peak at his fourth run back from a spell and importantly has drawn gate 1 so he can jump straight to the front, dictate and control. CONSEATED returns from a 8 week let-up. She’s suited at this level. BORDER SCOTT will get off the speed and find the line as will STAR LIGHTNING. Numbers – 2 – 4 – 1 -7 Suggested Bet – Main Instigator win RACE 7 MAJINIKA showed plenty of ability in his first preparation winning two of his five starts. He’s trialled well and should take a position right on the speed and give a strong kick home. BIG CAROLINE finds it hard to win however he ran well first-up and Pike takes the ride. CLOBBERETTA will lead or box seat from gate 1. FANCY FOX has been flying at the provincials. Numbers – 2 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – Majinika and Big Caroline RACE 8 Wide open finish. BAYELLA should improve sharply on her first-up run. She drops in class and has drawn to settle handy to the speed. ANGEL SKY returns from a 5 week let-up. Her best form measures up in this. THE FORGOTTEN ONE disappointed last start but he can improve with the drop in trip. HEAVY SET will be finishing strongly. Numbers – 1 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – Bayella and Angel Sky QUADDIE RACE 5 – 4, 5, 6, 9 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 4 RACE 7 – 1 , 2, 4, 5, 6, 10 RACE 8 – 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 Bet Now!
