Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 15, 2016September 19, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: PEGASUS SWEETMAX MS PACE MUSCLE TORQUE (5) has only had eight lifetime starts due to injury but has enough ability to win this. He was held up for a run last start but shouldn’t run into traffic problems from this draw and is the one to beat. BLACKLIST (1) was rewarded for some consistent form by winning a weaker Kellerberin event last start and has the draw to be a major player. HINDU RAJA (4) has won his last two and could be up to the rise in class. CAMS RESURGENCE (3) was placed behind BLACKLIST (1) last start and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 5 1 4 3 Suggested Bet: MUSCLE TORQUE (5) to win. Race 2: PEGASUS PERFORMAX MARES MS PACE TOPNOTCH MACH (1) hasn’t won for almost a year but his recent form has been sound and he is getting close to a win. His placing three starts back was good enough to beat this moderate field if he can hold up early. BE PREPARED (3) is the only horse in the race with winning form and must be respected. ZACHARIA (11) was good 3rd at big odds last start and would be a chance if he reproduces that effort. FRANCO JOAQUIN (10) has trialled fairly for his return and looks a good place chance from this draw. Tips: 1 3 11 10 Suggested Bet: TOPNOTCH MACH (1) to win. Race 3: MILNE HORSE MUSELI MS PACE KIWI LEGEND (1) hasn’t been at his best this campaign, winning only one of his 10 starts. He has had a short break since his last start 7th and won a recent Byford trial in good fashion and can show his best from this draw. OHOKA ASSASSIN (10) has won two of his four starts since a long layoff and should get a nice run. TACT MAJOR (2) has been impressive in winning both of his starts back from a spell and is up to the rise in class. THE REVOLUTION (3) has been placed at his last two and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 1 10 2 3 Suggested Bet: KIWI LEGEND (1) to win. Race 4: OAT-FREE MUSELI MS PACE GIULIANA RANCIC (5) has shown plenty of ability in previous campaigns but has disappointed on occasions. She was out of form before a spell but is now back with the Hall camp and resumes here without a trial so monitor the betting. BAILEYS GOLD (3) was held up for a run at her last start and would be hard to beat if she could find the top. ITS MY LUCKNOW (1) and SEA CIDER (2) have draws that should make them competitive in an open field. Tips: 5 3 1 2 Suggested Bet: GIULIANA RANCIC (5) to win. Race 5: MILNE PASTORAL COMPANY MS PACE BETTOR OFFER (9) is along way below his best and hasn’t finished closer than 5th in his last five starts but gets his chance tonight. He has been racing in stronger company and is capable of overcoming the wide draw. BOUNTY EYRE (3) was disappointing in stronger company last start but has the blinkers added here. MR NICKEL (6) has been thereabouts of late and shouldn’t be far away. CHRISTIAN BANNER (1) hasn’t been placed for a long time but can improve from this draw. Tips: 9 3 6 1 Suggested Bet: BETTOR OFFER (9) to win. Race 6: MT BARKER CHICKEN FREE RANGE STEAKS MS PACE BUNGALOW BILL (11) has faced the breeze and ran brave placings at his past two starts. He rises in class for this but should appreciate not being the one who has to do all of the work and should run a big race. SMOKEY THE BANDIT (12) is the class runner of the field and couldn’t get clear at a crucial stage when 3rd in better company last week. ANOTHER VINNIE (9) is extremely unreliable but will give a big sight if he paces smoothly throughout. THAT’S RITE (4) was a good 2nd last week and will give them something to catch if he finds the front. Tips: 11 12 9 4 Suggested Bet: BUNGALOW BILL (11) each way. Race 7: HOWARD PORTER MEMORIAL ELEGANT CHRISTIAN (1) won four of his last five starts before a spell, breaking 1.55.0 for this distance on two occasions. He has got great speed and will be extremely hard to beat if near his top. BETTORS FIRE (7) has resumed from a break in slashing style, winning his last two in comfortable fashion. He may not be able to find the top tonight but is still the main danger. OUR IDEAL ACT (8) was extremely impressive in winning last week but is drawn wide again and up in class. OUR BLACKBIRD (4) hasn’t had the best luck this time in and can improve. Tips: 1 7 8 4 Suggested Bet: ELEGANT CHRISTIAN (1) to win. Race 8: MT BARKER CHICKEN READY TO EAT MS PACE NAUGHTY MARAVU (11), PAY ME CULLEN (9) and ASSASSINATOR (5) fought out a similar event on August 26th with only a short half head between the three of them. NAUGHTY MARAVU (11) had the hardest run of the trio on that occasion and can get some revenge tonight. PAY ME CULLEN (9) and ASSASSINATOR (5) dead-heated on that occasion and look the main dangers again. LIVELY SHARD (2) has been placed at his last two and can be thereabouts with a safe beginning. Tips: 11 9 5 2 Suggested Bet: NAUGHTY MARAVU (11) to win. Race 9: PLANTAGENET PORK THE WARWICK MARES QUALIFYING HEAT 1 WHERE DREAMS GROW (3) resumed for a new stable with a solid 2nd to AUCTIONEERS ELSU (6). She should be better for that run and has the best draw of the main chances. FOUR LEGGED FRENZY (5) was very impressive in sustaining a long run when victorious last week and only has to reproduce that to be competitive. AUCTIONEERS ELSU (6) is in career best form with wins at her last two but is drawn wider tonight. TYPHOON TAN (8) faded badly behind Chicago Bull last start but will appreciate the drop in class. Tips: 3 5 6 8 Suggested Bet: WHERE DREAMS GROW (3) to win. Race 10: MT BARKER CHICKEN READY TO COOK WESTBRED QUALIFYING HEAT 2 MS PACE LIGHTNING JOY (5), DIAMOND GEEZER (6) and ENJOY A COLDIE (4) are all very consistent trotters and filled the trifecta in a mobile event on Monday. This field is no stronger and it won’t be a surprise to see them repeat the result in a stand. MAKEMCRY MAORI (7) has the ability to challenge that trio but is not always reliable. Tips: 5 6 4 7 Suggested Bet: LIGHTNING JOY (5) to win. Bet Now
