RACE 1

BONUS SEASON went forward to lead second-up at Geelong finding one better at the line, that winner looks progressive and this is an easier task if they go forward on her once again, hard to beat. KOKESHI chased her home at Geelong, she has been solid in strong maidens and should be looking to use the inside to advantage this time. Good debut from DAME FLORENCE at Cranbourne, she can land in a stalking position. Stablemate LOVE N GLORY hit the line strongly on debut, step up in trip suits.

RACE 2

Even speed expected for the stayers. SUFFOLK STAR is well-placed to repeat his win on the Hillside track last start staying at the 3000m.  PRESSLEY raced on Sunday on a heavy track and backs up quickly, if he takes his place then he’s in the mix. HIGHLAND BLAZE was impressive in his Flemington return warming up late, this is much easier but a possible prep run heading to Warrnambool in coming weeks. KARBURAN likely leader, won first-up for Bobbin stable over jumps, he’s effective on the flat at this level.

RACE 3

OTAGO is impossible to catch, watching his jumpouts in insolation he would take beating first-up in this event. CARDI BEE was well-backed at Pakenham on the heavy track and bolted in, form prior was solid, soft track conditions in her favour again. MOVE THE TORANA Is fit & inform for this apprentice series heat, the intention to ride closer last start didn’t evenuate, expect they try again. SUPER SNITCH improved sharply second-up at Stawell, now has leading apprentice Emily Pozman and generally improves again third-up.

RACE 4

Good speed engaged suiting the progressive BEL MEZYAAN been freshened and a good trial recently to have him up to the mark. PERSIAN CAVIAR missed a run last week and has drawn the ideal gate, she maps for a perfect run behind the fast speed and any fitness benefit second-up puts her in winning contention. CONFLICT is another going the right way winning his past two, this is much harder than what he’s been facing. Open race beyond that.

RACE 5

Another race where the tempo could be strong. Likely leaders, 1,5,17, the 8 is also prominent early. SO SUAVE fares best on the speed map, last start winner supported in betting at Cranbourne, up in grade now and enjoys a soft run to strike. Stablemate LE TROISIR was another backed in  at a price at Ballarat and went close to winning, he’s on the up and deserves respect. HOUDINI is fit and tries hard, Mark Zahra aboard and speed on to suit. DJOCKOVIC will get back and run on.

RACE 6

The filly looks a major player in this, TRES MAGNIFIQUE bolted in a Bendigo 0-62 at prohibitive odds, also enjoys a wet track and can go forward with Williams staying aboard, clear top pick. NORMANDY LASS should be at her peak now third-up now and needing a wet track which is likely. MAGNABELLE ROYALE has been well-placed to date, this is harder. ESPANA draws a good marble to land in behind and sprint best, she can be hit & miss. IN HASTE makes her Australian debut for Walker, shown ability.

RACE 7

WISE INLAW and CHOWDOWN come through the same race at Flemington which appears the right form line, the latter finished best and can do so again, lack of early speed with the rail out 7m so the pattern is important. Aggressive placement for the debut winner POWER AND THE BEAT a soft winner at Bendigo and bred to appreciate a rain-affected surface. JETT SMASH will take a forward position, he meets a few progressive types this time.

RACE 8

Solid tempo. 1,4,5 & 6 all keen to be on-speed early. Giving OAK BEACH a chance first-up if that tempo eventuates, ideally-suited over further but her jumpouts indicate she’s fit and forward to sprint well fresh. DAMAS is airborne, slow out last start and looped the field, drawn to be closer this time. ROCK THEM JOOLS will give them a start and be rattling home late. LOUIS BARTHAS and DOLLAR CHASER also worth respecting.
