Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on May 26, 2026May 26, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 Speedster TENNESSEE SPIRIT makes her Victorian debut for Toby Lake, she looks the obvious speed in the race and in this a long way. SPIRIT OF GAIA is hard and fit with a form rider steering, in the mix. Farnan 2YO FARMELIA deserves respect debuting for a good stable, watch betting. GOODELLO will thereabouts and hitting the line first-up. Selections: 10,9,7,11 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 2 JUST FOR KICKS will probably take up the running from ROYAL MAXIMUS and there’s no pressure around them, both get their winning chance if good enough. OBON will tuck in behind and get last shot. GOODNESS ran well in the market at Bendigo and was the best of the closing bunch. Up in trip suits, but again no speed hurts her chances. Hard to make a case for anything else. Selections: 2,4,6,3 Suggested Bet: JUST FOR KICKS win RACE 3 AMPHACTOR was excellent first-up at Geelong, found the gun run on leaders back and couldn’t reel in the winner. He again draws well and can only benefit fitness wise. GLENFINNAN lugs top weight dropping in grade and deserves respecting, needs a win. OLATUNDE has been disappointing since joining the new camp for a healthy sum, recent form suggests he can run well and has M Zahra to make a difference. STRANGETHINGDESIRE looks the leader, needs it soft. Selections: 4,1,10,9 Suggested Bet: AMPHACTOR 1 x 3 RACE 4 Good race. MAGNASTAR can lead and hold the fence as he did winning on debut at Moe where he ran good time with a big gap back to 3rd that day. HOLDING CAPTIVE will join him in the front pairing, also a maiden winner last start this looks much tougher. RADICAL DUDE maps well in behind the speed but needs luck getting out. BLANKFELD has ability and will be charging home. So too AFTERBERNA. Selections: 3,6,4,7 Suggested Bet: MAGNASTAR win RACE 5 PERFECT TEN was impressive beating a moderate bunch at BM62 level first-up, she is lightly-raced and I like they’ve given her time between runs to get over that on a Good 3 surface. STREET LARK trialled well at Pakenham to start the preparation and ran a good race first-up, any softening of the track won’t hurt with showers expected. UPSTAGE received a good ride to go back-to-back at Seymour and is still on the up. BEAUTIFULLY gets blinkers first time and will be looking to cross and lead. Selections: 9,11,6,3 Suggested Bet: PERFECT TEN each way RACE 6 Love the booking of apprentice Emily Pozman on YAM to win second-up after a great return at Bendigo, she can put him on the back of a strong speed and the tough gelding should be there to win. DANTOOINE has the gun front-running jock Logan Bates up and backs up off a Warrnambool win on the heavy, there’s pressure around him. DARK SIMBA has been in and out to resume and expecting him forward, good speed up front allows him to balance up and come wide as he likes to do. BOLTSAVER was super fresh on a dry track then unlucky second-up, tough race. Selections: 1,2,5,8 Suggested Bet: YAM each win RACE 7 Good race for DOCUMENTARY to continue winning in this grade. Stable in form and a stack of speed up front brings him home down the middle and may sit closer with the addition of blinkers. KILLIANA is speedy and will take catching, LAVANDULA resumes for a new stable and showed good ability, drops in behind from the draw and can win fresh. HUSTLE IN HEELS has no rider engaged yet and a horror draw, they must go forward. CONFLICT has a big finish, disappointed last start, no chance the run prior. No shock to be in the finish. Selections: 6,8,9,11 Suggested Bet: DOCUMENTARY 1 x 3 RACE 8 Hot race. A few progressive types resuming. ROYAL FLARE is a promising horse and looked impressive at Caulfield Heath Trials to resume. The inside draw is niggly, Jamie Melham will need to bang him out to hold a spot if he’s winning. NATONAL CODE is another progressive type, and also trialled well here, the wide draw may not be a negative with his gate speed and has Mark Zahra to steer. They look the two. Wider hopes to LEGACY BAY can improve on disappointing fresh effort and PERSIAN CAVIAR going forward to be on-speed. Selections: 16,13,11,9 Suggested Bet: Quinella 13 & 16 Market Market
