Eleven Seconds and Three Votes look standouts to continue Chris Gangemi’s Hot Ascot Form Posted on February 3, 2017February 10, 2017 | Posted by Julio Santarelli Eleven Seconds and Three Votes look standouts to continue Chris Gangemi’s hot form at Ascot on Saturday. Eleven Seconds is on trial for the Pinjarra and Bunbury Cups in the James Boag’s Premium Handicap (2200m). The bay gelding was a brilliant last-start winner at Ascot on January 21 when he led and defeated Gatting by three lengths. “He ran them along the whole way and found the line really well,” Gangemi told Tabradio’s The Sports Daily.” Gangemi said he was confident Eleven Seconds will past his first test at a middle distance journey. “He is bred to stay and has always given the indication that he would get ground easily,” Gangemi said. “He has always done his work easily and all indications are he will get it, but you never know until you try. “Probably having that hard 1800 last start helps and if he had a soft run I probably would have been a little more concerned. “Having that hard run I think he will be fine.” Eleven Seconds has drawn barrier 8. Brad Parnham retains the ride. Gangemi said Three Votes’ recent work suggests the four-year-old will be in the mix in the Australian Chinese Times Handicap (1100m). The speedy four-year-old is a short-priced favourite after destroying his opposition last start, leading and winning over 1000m by 5 ¼ lengths. Gangemi is confident Three Votes, who has a perfect draw in barrier two, can blow his opposition away again. “When he rocks up at the races and is right he is a very good horse and when he wins he wins by a long way,” Gangemi said. “He is a very good horse who has won four of eight and I couldn’t be happier with him over the past three weeks. “He is the best he has ever been and Jarrad (Noske) said he has never worked or felt any better. “He is fit now and hopefully he can run them along and win again.” Three Votes carries 55kg for Noske, 3kg less than when he defeated Slik Sam on January 14. Gangemi said Jingtang, having his first campaign for the stable, will adopt a change of tactics from a wide draw in the Get The Tabtouch Handicap (1200m). “He has been going good without a lot of luck,” Gangemi said. “It’s an opportunity to ride him back and see if he can hit the line.” Jingtang will be in the hands of Jarrad Noske. In a field of 15 they combine from the extreme outside gate.
