Chris’ Eagle Farm Best Bets Posted on February 3, 2017 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 4 No. 7 Whiskey Allround Tony Gollan trained gelding who has just struggled for form in recent times however no surprise to see him improve sharply stepping up to 1200m tomorrow. Spotted him making late ground here last start over the shorter 1000m trip and from a good draw tomorrow there’s a strong chance he’ll find himself a lot closer to the lead. From there he’ll get his chance to break through. RACE 5 No. 6 Mystic Opal Chris Anderson really does have this mare humming along this prep having won 3 of her 4 starts. At each off those wins she’s shown a dazzling sprint to quickly bury her rivals before coasting on to an easy victory. Yes she’s up in the weights carrying 2kg more than her last start 3.5 length win however I can’t see that stopping her continuing along her winning way tomorrow. RACE 7 No. 2 L’entrecote Looks a very suitable race for this consistent galloper who although no friend of punters his last couple can bounce back tomorrow. Unfortunately he struck soft ground at both of those outings which he just doesn’t handle these days, he did loom up travelling easily the latest however once asked for an effort his ‘wheels spun’ in the wet just holding his spot to the line. No such problems tomorrow.
