Doomben Thoroughbreds Preview – 5 March Posted on March 4, 2016 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Tips RACE 2 No.2 Chariot Of Gold Liam Birchley trained galloper having his third run back from a break tomorrow. Like his effort last time out here a fortnight back racing up on the speed in a solidly run affair, he was run over late however the margin on the line was less than a length. With that run under his belt and stepping up to the 1350m trip tomorrow he’ll tag the likely leader Sambuca Shot before taking over in the straight and proving very hard to run down. RACE 7 No.2 Oak ‘n’ Arthur Gold Coast galloper who looks very well placed tomorrow at a value quote. Solid winner here two starts back before drawing wide and having to give away too much start a fortnight back before making very good ground in the run down the straight. Weighted well tomorrow after the claim for Luke Dittman and drawn to settle no worse than midfield he’s got plenty in his favour. RACE 8 No.6 Anecdote Steve O’Dea trained galloper who was a winner here two starts back before putting up a good performance up to the 1350m last time being beaten a narrow margin after sitting wide without cover the entire trip. He’s been freshened up, drops in weight and will appreciate going back to the 1200 tomorrow, add to that a good draw which should see him settle nice and handy to the pace. Looks terrific value.
