Chris’ Doomben Best Bets Posted on February 16, 2018 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 2 No. 11 Prue’s Angel Tony Gollan trained mare who has raced very consistently all campaign. She drew a wide gate at the Gold Coast two starts back settling a lot further back than hoped before weaving her way home in good fashion down the straight. Her latest effort at the Sunshine Coast was solid in better grade racing tight all the way being beaten less than 2 lengths on the line. Up in weight tomorrow however down in grade and distance, she’ll be finishing all over them late. RACE 3 No. 4 Skate To Paris Resuming filly from the Chris Munce stable who appears very well placed first up tomorrow. She kicked off her last campaign with a flying finish to beat all bar the winner on Toowoomba Cup Day before closing out her prep with consecutive placings here in Listed company. Given a very soft hitout behind some smart types in a recent trial she looks all set to go fresh. RACE 4 No. 3 Brazen Moss Drifted a long way back at the Sunshine Coast 3 weeks ago in a fast run race. He and Torgersen were the best of the backmarkers with both closing solidly late suited by the strong tempo. Torgersen has since franked the form winning at Ipswich and will be hard to beat again tomorrow however the big swing in the weights towards Brazen Moss from that clash suggests it’s his time to shine.
