Chris’ Doomben Best Bets Posted on October 13, 2017 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 2 No. 1 Mishani Bullitt Class runner in this race and after the claim for Steph Lacy gets in nicely with 56kg which is 3kg less than he’s carried all 4 starts this campaign. Liked his effort at the Sunshine Coast last start when looking to drift back early on, unfortunately he was caught wide and ended up having to roll forward and settle outside the leader. He gave all down the straight beaten less than a length on the line. This is easier and he gets his chance to break through. RACE 3 No. 8 Takarakka Trainer Rob Heathcote has this gelding plus the favourite No Annamossity engaged in this race. At the better price I’m inclined to lean this one’s way off a nice closing effort behind his stablemate last time out. Drawn the inside there’s no reason he can’t take up a position closer to the lead whilst the step up to a mile is a big plus. Appears terrific each-way value. RACE 6 No. 14 Miss Arabella Lightly raced mare who was working her way into the finish nicely at the Sunshine Coast a fortnight back before hitting a dead end 100m from the line. That stopped any momentum she had and jockey Jim Byrne just ambled her down to the line beaten less than 3 lengths. That was only her second start over a distance and with better luck tomorrow she can figure in the finish.
