Chris’ Doomben Best Bets Posted on February 9, 2018 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 4 No. 3 Umberto Good value around early on for this second up galloper from the Tony Gollan stable who put the writing on the wall with a strong finishing effort first up over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast. Rising to 1200m tomorrow he’s drawn the right gate for Jim Byrne to hold a reasonably forward position early on. With room in the straight he’ll be finishing all over them late. RACE 7 No. 10 Dream Master Only lightly raced and looks to have really hit his straps this time in winning both outings Gold Coast and here latest each in dominant fashion. Although drawn a little awkwardly on paper there doesn’t appear to be any great speed engaged which should enable him to get over and either lead or park nice and close. He’s run slick times at both of those wins and looks all set to do so again tomorrow. RACE 8 No. 7 Rosie Posie Toowoomba trained mare who is very capable of running over the top of the leaders at the business end of the mile tomorrow. Bit against first up, unsuited by the tempo second up before again unlucky when striking interference at a vital stage in the straight at her latest run. She protested unsuccessfully and was stiff not to have the result upheld. Look for her to be steaming home late.
